‘Spanish producer Rayko has been a key figure in the disco scene since 2008, the point at which he launched the influential Rare Wiri label. His fastidious DJ sets hear him blend underground disco, boogie, funk, and electronica, and surely foregrounded his Vadillo Vice series, where Wiri outpours his rarer, outer-there sonic shinies. ‘Towers’, ‘Cosmic Boy’ and ‘Napole’ all command the subtle sensibility of disco edits, but these are actually originals through and through, making impressive use of what sound like sampled vocals and homegrown syntheses.’

'Three different mixes to choose from of this latest bullet from Manolo, as he returns to his semi-regular home of Spanish label Rare Wiri. In its Original Form, 'No Place For Me' is a mid-paced chugger with a distinctly Italo-esque feel. The Paper Street Soul Remix then takes the track somewhere altogether more lilting, tropical and Balearic-ish, before the package is completed by the Cisco Cisco Remix, which ups the tempo a notch or two and adds a jaunty, rolling, jazzy keys lick as well as some squelchy stabs and FX - and steals the gold as a result.'

Review:
First out in August, this two-tracker from Barcelona's Ivan Fabra and Tokyo's Yuki Tosaya now gets the remix treatment. Jay-Son reworks the title cut, his rub having something of the euphoric feel of early progressive house and proto-trance circa 1992-93, not least thanks to the breathy female "I feel it" vocal snip. Meanwhile, Mexico's Saint-Loup-En-Bray takes on 'Trappist 303' and augments the squelchy acid of the original with Italo-house pianos and the in-your-face synth vamps of early Belgian techno, resulting in a remix that might sound like a confusing mess on paper but is actually something of a triumph.'
