Now that we find ourselves, again, in the nightmare, it might be a good time to gather in a space that offers relief. Medicine for Nightmares, a bookstore in San Francisco’s Mission District, is hosting the launch of my short story collection, How We Got Into This. I’ll read something and be in conversation with Scott Laughlin, co-director of the Disquiet Literary Program in Lisbon, but really I’d like to think of this event simply as a gathering. So if you’re free next Thursday, November 14th, around 7pm, please stop by, browse some books, have a glass of wine, congregate, commiserate. If you can’t make it, check out the bookstore some other time – it’s a remarkable space.
