James “Chubby” Damron 63,
Native of Charlottesville Virginia
25 years experience as a fly fishing guide and instructor for Trout, fly tying instructor and designer of Trout flies and 40 years of experience in the home building industry.
I have been fishing nearly all my life, and I have averaged 125-150 days in the field per year for over 28 years now, fly fishing, guiding, and exploring the mountain streams of Virginia, the mid Atlantic states and the inter Rocky Mountain states.
I’ve visited and fished well over 300 of Virginia’s Trout streams and just as many across a dozen other states over the years and I’ve come to know where to look and listen closely.
I’ve always been interested in Bigfoot, ever since the Legend of Boggy Creek movie came out. About 25 years ago I realized yes I was being followed, watched and hearing odd things and then I started paying attention!
Small rocks being tossed near me as I fished got my attention and has kept me looking and listening ever since.
I hike and fish slowly and quietly enjoying my surroundings and I’ve come to realize that Bigfoot are very curious as long as you act normally. No knocking or howling is necessary, if there are Bigfoot in the area they know you are there. Walking around in the dark with flashlights and a crowd beating on trees and yelling is a best way NOT to have a Bigfoot experience!
I have had 2 no doubt about it sightings in the past 7 years and several other incidents where I’m pretty sure they were Bigfoot, nothing else shadows people in the woods unless they plan to eat us.
We are fortunate to have found a great investigation area that has provided a great deal of evidence and experiences over the past two years. A strange day riding my ebike to an out of the way little stream with no idea Bigfoot were around and soon I realized 2 were following me. Flanking me on both sides they ran, trotted along just far enough behind I couldn’t see them but definitely heard them.
I’d stop, they’d stop and sometimes not quick enough so I heard them both.
Upon reaching a particular point, they evidently didn’t want me to go any further, a large rock, probably 6-8 pounds just missed me thrown from a hidden trail as I passed by.
It would likely have killed me, if they had wanted that they would have. I left, telling the woods around me out loud that I’d be back and a week later I was.
