The stage is set. The lights are on.
But do I have the starring role in
a show I didn’t ask for?
Who said all the world was a stage?
I didn’t ask to be on display when
I’m not at my best.
All eyes on me at the worst possible time.
where’s my queue to exit stage left
From a scene, I know I wouldn’t have
written for myself.
I’m not looking or hearing for any applause.
I just want to run & hide behind the curtain.
