This one felt good. As I mentioned in my last post the past two days were not going well but today we all pulled it together and took 5th place. Starting from the back of the grid we at best were hoping we could break into the top ten so this hard fought P5 feels amazing! .Com

From P15 on the grid to crossing the line in P5, Daniel Wu and Tazio Ottis had quite a debut in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. A top 5 finish for the No. 73 GoldenTV Honda Civic TCR certainly feels like a podium to this team after limited track time and thrashing through multiple gremlins the past few days. Everyone kept their heads down and stayed positive, and the hard work paid off in spades with our final result. We’re super proud to finish as the top Honda in a competitive field.

We’ll be back at Mid-Ohio in May for another shot at the podium.

I grew up in the US but my Mom would rarely ever buy me American candy. So I ate a lot of White Rabbit candy growing up. So when I came across this White Rabbit ice cream while I was filming in China I had to try it. My lactose intolerance did not like me for doing that but my nostalgic tastebuds enjoyed every minute of it.

Cancer is a scary thing. In the past few years I have had several family and friends suddenly discover they had late stage cancer with no previous symptoms. So after learning about and their advanced full body mri from my friends and I decided I should stop procrastinating and finally get this done! It was actually really easy, only took an hour of my time. The only hard part is now, waiting for my results!

Finally got a chance to train ! I met coach Freddie Roach many years ago when he came to Hong Kong to get and Zhou Shiming ready for a fight in Macau. He told to come train whenever I was in La and for some reason it took me almost 10 years to get there. Better late than never. Freddie is an absolute legend! Hope to go back soon!

Here is a Hong Kong movie making tradition. Before the start of every work day the entire crew lights three sticks of incense and bows three times in four directions to give respect to the local spirits of that location and ask for a smooth work day. It is especially important in stunt days to ask the spirits to protect us from getting injured. I am not religious or superstitious but I respect this age old tradition. I did this every work day for 20 years but haven’t in over four years because I was mostly working in the US. Picked it back up on this movie even though they don’t really do it on mainland movies either. Feels good to revive the tradition.

I have been shooting a movie in China for the last few weeks. It’s been nice to be back after 4 years away. I spent most of my career here so seeing familiar faces and working in Chinese has been nice. Got a day off today which was a coincidence because Thanksgiving is obviously not celebrated here so I went for a walk to find a place to meditate which I haven’t done in ages. I found a hill behind my hotel and made my way through the trees to the top where there was a small clearing. I took off my shoes, grounded and did a nice standing meditation session. It is cold outside but the leaves and ground under my feet felt warm so I tried to pull that warmth up into my body. I had some tensions in my body culminating in some aches and pains that eventually worked themselves away. When I was done, I looked up and saw this view which had a powerful affect on me. The world is out of balance. A black hole of darkness has been pulling humanity into it’s core affecting us on many levels. It’s hard not to feel helpless and hopeless. The natural instinct is to react with equal or more darkness (which I have been guilty of) however that just simply increases the power of that black hole creating more despair. The only way to counter this black hole is to look for the light through all this mess. It is difficult but that lightness is there, it is just being obscured by the darkness. We must do our best to be the light instead of reacting to the dark . It doesn’t have to change the world in one go but small pinholes can make a difference that can eventually break through. So be the light. Be love. Bring that balance back.

In fact, other than a bank loan, I have never borrowed money from anyone in my life. If I ask for a donation, it will be public and to a vetted legitimate charity that you can get a tax credit for.
