As we reflect on His selfless sacrifice, Sharing 7 things that we may be holding onto that we can give to Jesus.

Day 4. The things that hinder us from serving and loving others and The things that keep us from being obedient.

These can be as simple as "I'm too busy" or "I'm too tired". Or, it can be the lack of “understanding” of our purpose here on earth.

It's time to give up this excuse and allow Christ to cleanse us from the sin of selfishness and self-centeredness.

Let him remove those things that cause us to say "no" to serving him.

Sometimes we are consumed by our own pain or our own hurts, that we forget about loving others like Christ would love them.
Christ loves all people, even those who don't love Him back.

In fact, he laid down his life for us while we were still his enemy.

(Romans 5:10)
Let’s allow Him to give us a heart like His - one full of compassion and grace for one another.

We have an example in Jesus who was completely obedient to the Father. He never said no and he never made excuses. He always humbled himself before the Father, even in his moments of fear, doubt and anguish. Let Christ remove these things and make you a person who is willing to lay aside your own wants and desires for the sake of pleasing God.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” James 1:22
John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.

Reflecting on Christ's sacrifice for us. Let's also consider the things we can let go of for him.
Sharing 7 sins we can let God heal us from to strengthen our relationships with him.
Number 3. Give up anger, bitterness and unforgiveness towards others.
We've all been wronged by someone at some point - whether it be a friend, family member or even a stranger. When you're hurt by someone you trust, it's easy to get angry and retaliate - but it takes maturity and patience to resist this temptation and extend forgiveness instead.
Let go of bitterness, jealousy, pride and anger in exchange for love, joy, peace and compassion towards others! These traits will bring out the best in us when we seek to understand others in their struggles instead of trying to prove ourselves right all the time or compete with others for success
Maybe you are suffering from the sting of unforgiveness?
Unforgiveness is a heavy burden to carry around all day. It can cause us to feel irritated and angry towards others. It can also cause us to fall into depression and anxiety.
Forgiveness is not saying what someone did was "okay," but it allows us to release our anger and hate towards them so we can move on with our lives without those emotions weighing and grow closer in our relationship with Jesus.
Hebrews 12:15 “looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled"

Sharing 7 ideas of things we can let go of that will help build our relationship with Jesus!

As we reflect on how CHRIST laid down his life for us - We can surely lay down our sins at the foot of the cross.

Idea number 2!!
Give up envy or jealousy and Give up your feelings of insignificance or inadequacy.

Be grateful for the gifts that God has given you to serve His purpose in your life and be happy for others who have gifts to serve God too!

Many times when we are feeling jealous or envious, those feelings are nothing more than "discontentment" with what God HAS provided for us and we chose to "covet" what he has NOT given us.

Let's lay aside those feelings this week and focus on what the Lord HAS bestowed upon us instead - and be GRATEFUL for those blessings.

Stop comparing yourself to others, look at who you are in Christ and what He has called you to do and live in that confidence!

(Ephesians 2:10) For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Have you ever taken a moment to think about all the things that Christ gave up for us? He gave up His heavenly appearance and glory to take on the appearance of a servant, and the likeness of a human. He even gave up His own life for us. That's a pretty big sacrifice, right?

I want to encourage you to reflect on the things WE can lay aside for Christ. As a starting point, I'll be sharing 7 ideas for you to consider.

7 is the perfect number and today is Day 1
Firstly, let's talk about SELFISH PRIDE. Our pride can be a major barrier between us and God. I invite you to let go of your pride and allow yourself to be humbled by our Lord. It might not be easy, but letting go of control can help us to understand just how much God loves us and wants to take care of us.

What letter is at the center of pride? Pride is all about me, me, me.

SELFISH PRIDE shows we are INSECURE - Our insecurities often stem from a lack of understanding of who God is and what He thinks about us His children. If you're struggling with feelings of inadequacy, take comfort in knowing that God loves you just the way you are.

SELFISH PRIDE also leads to fear of failure - If you're afraid to fail, remember that failure isn't the worst thing that can happen. In fact, it can be our greatest opportunity for growth! Sometimes we need to fail in order to fully understand who God is and what He has called us to do.

Our sins separate us from God. But the GOOD NEWS is that we can confess them and ask for forgiveness! If you're struggling with certain sins in your life, give them over to Jesus and allow Him to bring healing into your heart.

I hope these ideas help you in your journey towards a closer relationship with Christ. Remember, He gave up everything for us, so the least we can do is give up a few things for Him!
In fact, I have 6 more ideas at Araeofhope.org

The Lord is good, ❤️ a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows them that trust in him. Nahum 1:7

☀️ Do the best you can and trust the outcome to God. Confidently trust Him to handle things beyond your efforts.
❤️ ❤️ Every day, especially when you feel uncertain, repeat the following:
1. I put my life in God's hands.
2. I will trust God's guidance.
3. I leave the outcome to God.

Matthew 7
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

The Proclamations of Three Angels
Revelation 14

6 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— 7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”

8 And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”

9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
