I’ve been thinking a lot about trust recently. About how integral it is to a shared creative space. And, even more importantly, about how it’s a two way street.

Because it’s easy to feel like our collaborators don’t trust us when our opinion gets disregarded. It’s easy to feel like no one values our judgement or tastes. It’s easy to close up and externalize blame for a bad session, or an endless production process.

But are WE trusting enough? Do we try to genuinely believe the artist when they tell us they have a vision behind the 17th revision? Do we trust our collaborators as much as we wish they would trust us?

Trust is a two way street. And once you start to walk it, you’ll be surprised at how quickly the world seems to meet you there.
