Edited by with contributions from divers, photographers, fishermen and surfers, the book features quotes from Attenborough and favourite addresses around the country’s coastline from the directors behind the film, Ocean with David Attenborough. The film will be the legendary filmmakers’ last documentary as he turns 99 two days after this Royal Premiere.
Melinda says of the new book: “‘The pocket guide we have made inspired by this film is really a bookable celebration of the people and places around this sea-licked land that really support and love the ocean. It’s full of walks, dives, shacks, restaurants, lodges, pubs, restaurants, adventures and beaches - with quotes from Attenborough and some amazing personal favourite spots from the directors.”
Speaking of Attenborough, the film’s co-producer and CEO and founder of gloobles adds: “Attenborough strikes a chord in us like no other. And make no mistake, this is his serious call to action. He’ll turn 99 just two days after this premiere, and his near century of witnessing what’s happening to our oceans is often hard to watch. But there is hope. There is always hope, found in the conservationists establishing marine reservation zones around the world, the biologists restoring coral reefs, in the coastal communities protecting their waters, and in the everyday travellers choosing better. This film shows us that change is not only possible, it’s already happening.”
