Facebook doesn't seem to have much respect for fair use and lately my videos have been taken down (and my account put in Facebook jail) frequently for copyright problems so unfortunately I don't think I can upload my videos; which are undeniably fair use, natively to Facebook anymore. I'll have to just share the YouTube links - which generally means Facebook is not going to promote them, so sorry to those who prefer to watch my videos on Facebook. Consider following me on YouTube instead. Anyway, you can find a link to my most recent video in the comments!

the easiest way to learn something (or get better at something) is to have a project or goal in mind that requires you to know how to do that thing. I never particularly set out to learn how to edit images and videos but I'm kinda decent at it now because my job required me to learn it. But it doesn't even have to be your job. Learn guitar so you can play your partner's favorite song on your anniversary. Learn a language so you can surprise your immigrant grandparents. Learn to code so you can build that video game idea that's been in your head since childhood.

I play a lot of competitive games and one thing people always say when you ask for advice on how to get better is "play to learn, don't play to win"
I've realized that this works for almost everything else in life too

i'm a pretty positive person and I hate cynicism, but I don't think of myself as an optimist. i honestly think humanity is generally screwed. but that doesn't mean we can't have a good time

just because there are two sides to every story doesn't mean you have to pick one.
two people can come to different conclusions based on the same set of facts
also sometimes you just need to mind your business
