Our Story

The " Mountain Matinee" began publicly airing to listening audiences on the first week of January, 2016. The program was created by and is hosted by CanJoe*John, broadcasting every Saturday from noon until 3 pm ET, LIVE from the Tri-Cities FM 96.3 “The Possum” studio, located in Blountville, TN. Showcasing the very best of the best local, regional, national, as well as internationally known music recording and performing artists, bands, musicians, and singer-songwriters, the weekly LIVE program exemplifies and promotes the highly diverse genres, unique styles, and distinct music sounds coming directly out of the very “cradle of Americana music”, the US Southern Appalachian mountain regions.
