Fun fact: the gas station game environment in Florida Interstate '86 was originally made as an art test assignment for Leslie Benzies' studio Build a Rocket Boy some years ago (with different branding of course). I didn't get that job but it was thanks to these models that I came up with the idea of developing a simple and fun driving game on my own which eventually became FI86.

Florida Interstate '86 came out on iOS and Android in February 2021. 11 months and over 100k downloads later it's still evolving thanks to your feedback.

To-do list for the near future:
• An actual car and color selection interface in the main menu needs to exist (plus new vehicles)
• The implementation of achievements and a leaderboard on Android (I've been struggling with this for months - they've been in the iOS version since last April)

Also, a new game by Welcome to the '80s, a similarly simple and casual one is already in development.

A new update is available for Florida Interstate '86 on Android (and coming to iOS very soon) featuring:

• New road elements
• Slight refinements and adjustments to the camera (e.g. wider field of view) and controls
• Minor visual upgrades regarding some particle and sunset lens flare effects
• On iOS 9 achievements and a global leaderboard have been live since the last update in April (what's your highest score?)

Also it is now possible to unlock the game's dynamic daylight system by earning a score higher than 1986 (even without the Florida Freeway Pass).

A new set of updates are now available for F.I. '86 on Android (and coming to iOS soon):

• Further enhancements of the touch controls and steering
• Cassettes are now easier to pick up (their collision detection is more forgiving)
• A new settings menu with separate volume controls for music and sound effects were added and it is now possible to listen to background music from other apps while in-game
• A new track from Peter Guja joins the soundtrack
