Could be one of the hardest posts of the year so far!

In our last episode we talked about propaganda and how we are all susceptible to it. This post is a prime example of that.

This post that has been going around about the “MAGA preacher running a m**h lab to bring on the apocalypse.”

It’s not real. It’s satire that’s been shared as fact.

But here’s the more important point — this is exactly how propaganda works.

Not just right-wing propaganda. All of it.

It’s designed to hit your bias. To make you feel that little rush of “of course they would do that”. That moment where it confirms everything you already think about a group… and you hit share without checking.

That’s the trap.

Because once we start sharing things just because they feel true, we’re no better than the people we criticise for doing the exact same thing.

And that’s how misinformation spreads — not just through bad actors, but through everyday people who mean well but get caught in the moment.

If we actually care about truth, credibility, and winning arguments — especially in the union movement and broader social justice space — we’ve got to be better than that.

Check it before you share it. Even when it confirms your worldview.

Because the quickest way to lose credibility is to push som**hing that isn’t real.

Don’t take the bait. This might seem like a c**t of an experiment on our behalf but it’s all about the journey, be honest, who fell for it?
