There are so many people I need to thank for bringing this book to life! First, my incredible illustrator, Sophia Mayhugh, who once again worked her magic and filled these pages with her beautiful drawings. Then, my sister Violet Fink, who stepped in when I was at my wit's end and helped make this dream a reality. And most especially, this book is dedicated to my niece and nephews—who had no idea this book even existed (keeping that secret was tough!)—and who will soon be getting their very own copies. I hope they love it as much as I loved creating it for them.
But this book isn’t just for them; it’s for everyone who decides to pick up a copy. To me, this story is about something deeply meaningful—the role of the eldest sibling. Being the oldest means being there for your younger brothers and sisters, helping them as they grow. When I wrote this, it wasn’t so much a reflection of my own experience but a promise, from one eldest sibling to all the others. It’s a privilege to help guide and support those who look up to us, a responsibility that continues until they’ve grown strong and tall. I hope this story resonates with anyone who’s ever been the eldest—or has relied on one.

Hi, all! We have some exciting news. Faux Fiction Audio is getting a bit of an upgrade as we expand our services to become fINK PRESS. We will continue to offer audiobook adaptation and production services, but will also be providing first-time authors and indie writers with support in any editing, proofreading, formatting, cover design, self-publishing guidance, and marketing they may need.

The publishing world looks a little different these days, and it’s somehow both easier and more difficult than ever to become a published author. Our goal is to help you navigate the world of self-publishing with confidence and clarity. Whether your dreams are to become a top-selling indie author or simply to put into print a story that has been saved on your hard drive for years, our adaptable structure is designed to help you reach your personal finish line. (We're also pretty cool to chat with if you want some basic advice on steps forward.)
