Happened across this (rather blurry) shot of my old kitchen in CT and realized I still love so many of the elements we incorporated - Delft tiles, .usa range, clerestory windows to provide light in the pantry behind, vintage holophane lights, combo of marble and mahogany counters! It was a joy to cook and entertain here - many wonderful memories of family gatherings.

Long time readers may remember my annual guide to champagne I posted at this time of year! And while my last was 6 years ago, the Quintessential Guide to Champagne is still a great primer for those who want the back story of the how and why of champagne and a few choice picks on the classic drink for New Year’s! I also recently had the Champagne Les Riceys - a delicious blanc de noirs! So cheers - or as F. Scott Fitzgerald said “Too much of anything is bad, but too much champagne is just right.”
