The Dark Candy is a PRODUCTION COMPANY founded by Sakis Lalas, photographer, documentary filmmaker & producer, and Valentina De Giorgi, writer and producer. We are a couple in life and work, our passions are fashion and cinema and we want to tell people INSPIRING STORIES. Inspiring stories can change the world. We write, create and produce BRANDED content, limited DOCU-SERIES and featu
re DOCUMENTARIES. We produce and shoot EPK, MAKING-OF, BEHIND-THE-SCENES documentary content and interviews with cast and crew for Movie/Tv projects. We created and produced ”Anthea Sylbert, My Life in 3 Acts”, a documentary featuring Oscar-winning actress Goldie Hawn and Oscar-nominated costume designer and historian Deborah Nadoolman Landis, director John Landis’ wife. We created and produced the docu-series ”Meet The Costume Designer”, shot between Los Angeles and Rome, where legendary Hollywood Costume Designers tell everything about their amazing work. Distributed by Prime Entertainment Group. We created and produced ”Hollywood in Quarantine” an unconventional short-documentary that was an Official Selection at the Milano Fashion Film Festival 2021
Through the project ”Crossover Fashion and TV/Movies” we work to bring the worlds of fashion and costume design closer. We organize events with costume designers of the major TV/Movie productions of the moment as guests. We created an online Live Talks Series format, “Fashion Meets Cinema” where we host the Costume Designers of hit TV shows & movies that influenced fashion, like “Emily in Paris”, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”, “The Handmaid’s Tale”, “Unorthodox”, ”Clueless” and ”Melrose Place”. We held Masterclasses on Fashion & Cinema and on the huge impact Costume Design has on our culture. The Dark Candy Productions have been featured in The New York Times, The Hollywood Reporter, and Variety.
