“If our government can spend $30 BILLION A YEAR to target and deport our immigrant neighbors, it has the money to invest in health care, housing, and education for all of us.
We don’t have a money shortage. We have a values shortage.”

From “Airdrops of food are not the answer as tons of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid sit on the other side of Gazan borders, blocked by Israeli authorities from entering the Strip. Airdrops are ineffective and dangerous and will force people to risk their lives for food.
Jean Guy Vataux, MSF emergency coordinator in Gaza, said today: “The roads are there, the trucks are there, the food and medicine are there, everything is ready to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza just a few miles away.
All that is needed is for Israeli authorities to decide to facilitate its arrival-expedite the clearance procedures, allow the entry of goods AT SCALE, and coordinate to permit safe collection and delivery. Only then can we begin to resolve the starvation we are seeing.”
As Israeli authorities’ deliberate use of starvation as a weapon in Gaza has reached unprecedented levels and people continue to be killed in violence at Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid distribution sites, Israel must fully lift its inhumane siege on Gaza and abandon the ineffective GHF scheme to distribute aid, and allow humanitarian actors to freely provide lifesaving assistance to Palestinians across the strip. “

From “WE KNOW HER NAME. Her name is Celina - mother to 4-year old Iker Javier. Her name appears in the system but we don’t know where she was taken. Let’s help find her. Please join me and donate for legal support via at LINK IN BIO (on page).
As artist said to me when we discovered her name: “I know there are thousands and thousands of stories and it’s helpful to feel closely into one.”
:
Celina came to the U.S. two years ago with her partner, Carlos, and their now 4-year-old son Iker Javier, hoping to build a better life. She worked hard selling tacos on the streets of Ladera Heights in Los Angeles, doing what she could to support her family.
But on Monday, everything changed. While working outside Home Depot, Celina was suddenly attacked by several masked men who forced her into a car and drove off. She hasn’t been seen since. No one knows where she was taken. She has disappeared, her name is in the system but not her location.
Carlos, a day laborer is now left alone, caring for their young son, who keeps asking when his mamá will come home. Celina is a mother, a partner, and a beloved member of her community.
She deserves to be safe.
Her family urgently needs our support. They are navigating this nightmare and will need legal help, and stability. We are raising funds to assist Carlos and his son as they search for Celina and try to hold their lives together.
Please donate, share her story, and stand with this family. No one should vanish without a trace while trying to do their work. Let’s demand answers—and let’s show Celina’s family they are not alone.”

TELL YOUR LAWMAKERS:
PUBLIC LANDS ARE NOT FOR SALE!
Congress is currently negotiating a major spending bill, and included in it is the possibility of selling off America’s public lands to offset tax cuts and government spending.
An amendment introduced in the Senate that would’ve prohibited this, failed to pass 48-51, which means it’s more important than ever for people to write their lawmakers and let them know that public land selloffs are a red line for the outdoor recreation community.
A House vote on this spending bill could occur any day now, which means it’s crucial that we write our lawmakers and let them know public lands are not for sale! has made it easy, via the link in their bio.
Alternatively makes it super easy to phone your voice in.

Share a Story With a Stranger - T&A

Monkey Tooth is a weekly podcast, an archive, and a showcase of stories encountered while traveling with an open mind. The show is published in iTunes, Stitcher, and is also available on our website www.MTP.DOG. The episodes will be recorded from the road as we travel, in our van, from California to Alaska to Tierra Del Fuego and back. We are seeking to explore the beauty of nature, the variety and commonality of humanity, the strangeness of time, and the limits of our abilities. While meandering from the top to the bottom of our planet, it will be our goal to meet people along the way, record their stories when possible, and produce podcasts with a true variety of content and character.
