DRONES - SELFIES AND MORE....
In this day of pandemic pandemonium, many couples are either resetting wedding dates or simply getting married in a small (very small) ceremony. How can your friends and guests share in the memories when we can't gather? Drones are becoming more commonplace but there is so much more available! This is an opportunity to investigate that new technology. .

One of the easiest ways to incorporate the technology is to hire a Projection Manager. This is the person who coordinates your technology - the go to person. This is useful so you have a trouble-shooter day of. When you talk to your photographers and videographers, ask them if they have Projection Managers or can recommend someone.

Virtual gatherings can be a conduit for everyone sharing in your special day. Programs such as ZOOM or a private FACEBOOK page are 2 common examples. Your friends and guests are sent specific instructions how to log in, when etc. so that they can see you and you can see them. Even when the pandemic no longer threatens us this is a great way to include friends and family members who cannot travel to us on that day.

If you want to provide selfie sticks to your guests, include some simply instructions on how to use them. This works well to provide candid shots as well as give your guests something fun to do. Have a collection spot at your reception where the selfie sticks are returned. Every person will see and capture something different.

Dance floor slide shows are great - why not include the selfie shots taken that very day? This gives a whole new perspective to your photos and memories. Your photos of that day are projected onto a screen,wall or ceiling. Eveyone gets to re-enjoy those special moments. This personalizes your wedding and reception in a refreshing yet intimate way. It provides conversation topics and shared enjoyment which makes your guests become closer adn better acquainted.

Many people wear FitBits or similar devices. You can record your heartbeat at the moment you share your vows, the first instant your see your fiancee in her wedding gown or that glance of love as you exchange rings. Isn't it amazing to think about hearing that same heartbeat in 10 or 20 years?

At the crux of new technology we are seeing the beginnings of virtual weddings. Cake decorations are now including 3D printer decorations so that their is depth to the cake. The list seems to increase with every passing week. As we go through this unusual time of "shelter at home", learning to celebrate together while separate takes some work. Lucky for all of us that technology is here for us.
