honestly it’s so easy to get caught up in the “doing things for God” that we simply forget to be with Him. i’m definitely guilty of that.

but it must not be this way.

in fact, i’m learning even more that the more i spend time with Him, the better i serve people & build His kingdom.

it’s actually surprising that a good number of Christians think that following Christ means He will remove every trial or hardship.

the tough reality is that He never said He would. He did however say that He’d be with us in the midst of hardship & that He’ll comfort us in our pain.

i’ve seen this post too many times around social media, but just because things sound good & spiritual doesn’t exactly mean they’re Biblical 🥴

for example, if you want healthy relationships, you can’t expect them to just fall into your lap just cause you pray while you remain an arrogant & bitter human in isolation.

you gotta apply Biblical instruction, do what you can, and then see how God will lead you to the right people as time goes by!

another one: people who pray for more financial blessing but don’t steward their current money well, aren’t generous, and constantly splurge 💀

a big question to ask is: do you carry God’s heart more than you just desire His hand? Cause God wants your character to be developed enough so that His blessings won’t lead you further away from Him.

here are some thoughts that have been refreshed in my mind, or dropped in my heart during .ph conference last week.

i bought a book a month ago called “My Heart Hurts” cause i was interested in learning more about having a more grounded theology for suffering & pain.

i never expected that a couple of weeks later my wife & i would experience having a miscarriage. And suddenly as i began to read through these pages, i found myself needing them more than ever as we navigate through loss & grief.

here are some pages that have really resonated with me so far.
