Check out Širom’s new track, “For You, This Eve, the Wolves Will Be Enchantingly Forsaken.”

Taken from their upcoming album In the Wind of Night, Hard-Fallen Incantations Whisper, out October 3, 2025 on tak:til.

The song was created from two musical ideas. The first arose from creative interplay within the group, the second from Samo’s studies of the harmonium. Both factors were also at play in the music created for the Dodekalogija 1972–1983 theatre performance.

With its linear composition, its piercing, repetitive rhythm section of percussion and morin khuur, and Samo’s towering vocals and uplifting harmonies, the track envelops the whole album in ecstasy and optimism.

🌒 The Slovenian avant-folk trio Širom are back with a sonically and thematically expansive 5th album; a thrilling follow-up to their widely praised 2022 release The Liquified Throne of Simplicity. Navigating almost two dozen instruments (some of which they've handcrafted), and hypnotic compositions that often exceed ten minutes in length, Ana Kravanja, Iztok Koren and Samo Kutin court patient, deep-dive listeners via intricately woven atmospheres, rhythms and sonics.

NEW MUSIC: We are thrilled to be releasing "Angel," the upcoming album from the acclaimed Welsh composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist Cerys Hafana (Out September 26th).

The album's first single “Helynt Ryfeddol” (which translates to "An Incredible Ordeal"), out now, is a percussive, hypnotic folk song in part discovered in the Welsh National Library and propelled by their layered vocals and masterful Welsh triple harp playing.

'Angel' is a deep exploration of minimalism, traditional and avant-folk music and Hafana's primary instrument the Welsh triple harp. The album alternates between vocal songs (all sung in the Welsh language) and instrumentals, often buoyed by a deft trio of sympathetic and exploratory musicians (drums, double bass, alto sax).

The uncommon breadth and innovation of 'Angel' soundly confirms Hafana as one of the UK's most exciting young contemporary folk artists. Their spellbinding music is rich with atmosphere and heart and stubbornly resistant to genre boxes and easy classification.
