If you’ve not seen it yet, the latest film on the channel is my epic Ridgeway Chalkenge run. 140km along the entire Ridgeway trail. The added excitement this year was that the race was the ultra distance event in the British Trail Running Championships. So if I could podium in my age category, I’d get two medals! Did I succeed? Today I have been mostly running the South Downs Way Relay. It’s a 100 mile race from Eastbourne to Wi******er. It’s a club race so club colours and I did three legs of around 10km each.

Thoroughly enjoyable day out in the sunsheeeine although it started pretty misty on top of Beachy Head. It’s all been about club camaraderie and grass roots running today.

There are still places left on an absolute classic UK ultra. Race to the Stones is a 100km race along the Ridgeway and if you’re up for it you can still get on it for this year. Thanks to for promoting the video I made of last year’s event in their latest email. I will be on the start line again this year!

New Backyard ultra world record set just now at the Dead Cow Gully race in Australia. Previous world record holder Phil Gore regains the title from friend of the channel Lukasz Wrobel, with an incredible 119 yards, 496 miles. As he did in 2023 Kiwi Sam Harvey provided the assist for Phil. Amazing effort by both. Well done also to our friend Oriel with a personal best of 102 yards. Incredible

Last weekend we were out filming at the Centurion South Downs Way 100. It was an amazing weekend and we captured some incredible moments and got plenty of great footage which we will be editing into a feature documentary in the coming weeks. However, as a teaser we also filmed a behind the scenes vlog.

What an amazing weekend at the 2025 Centurion South Downs Way 100. Victoria and I followed Mark Darbyshire all the way round on Saturday and witnessed an incredible course record 13:42 eclipsing Mark Perkins 2014 record by over 20 minutes.

Mark now holds the record for the UK’s four most prestigious 100 mile races. UTS 100, Lakeland 100, Arc of Attrition and SDW 100, as well as the North Downs Way 100.

We came back to the finish line on Sunday to see friends and channel subscribers. Thank you for all your lovely comments to us in Eastbourne today and it was great to meet so many of you and see so many friends.

It will take me a while to get the documentary together, but trust me it’s going to be an absolute epic film.

A couple of weeks ago I ran the Ridgeway Challenge, one of the British Trail Running Championship races this year. 140km of the ancient Ridgeway trail. I was a little disappointed with my performance. I felt sluggish, hot and tired. But with a kick up the arse from my wife I pulled something out of the bag in the last 10km and passed a few runners.

Today I was rewarded for that effort by Chris, the RD of the Ridgeway Challenge, who presented me with a medal for coming 3rd in my age category at the British Trail Running Championships. So sometimes even when you think you’ve not been good enough, you really have.

Thanks to my brand team. I ran in my Enertor insoles, wore my superb FlyingBurrito shirt and downed my Protein Rebel gels. Links in the bio

parkrun? Completed it mate! We went to Reigate Priory parkrun at the weekend specifically to get the letter ‘r’ which would mean I complete the word ‘parkrun’ in the challenges section of the Parkrunner app. But we also ended up having a surprisingly enjoyable trail run and met Aubrey, from Bigger than Running, for the first time.

Another busy weekend of running based activities for the Film My Run channel. Saturday saw me and my daughter Elsa head off to Reigate Priory parkrun to collect a letter ‘r’. This meant I’ve completed the word ‘parkrun’. We were also joined by Aubrey from bigger.than.running and it was great to meet him for the first time.

Then today (Sunday) I ran Worthing 10k and Victoria volunteered as Tail Walker. Not a great time for me in the race but I guess that’s to be expected after last week’s 140km Ridgeway Challenge. We also met Aubrey again as he was doing the race as well!

Another tough day out on the trails. Especially when the weather is hot and I haven’t done enough training. I was done by 30k and had to hang on completing the full Ridgeway trail of 140 kilometres in 24 hours 23 minutes. Thanks to Chris from Runaway Racing for inviting me.
