Clear Path 465 will improve safety and traffic flow on I-465 and I-69 on the northeast side of Indianapolis, transforming one of the state’s busiest interchanges with added lanes, interchange improvements, ramp improvements and more. Portions of I-69 will be reconstructed between I-465 and 82nd Street to accommodate a new I-465/I-69 interchange configuration. It will be reconfigured to provide dir
ect movements from eastbound I-465 and northbound I-465 to northbound I-69. The Clear Path 465 Project includes the following:
• I-465 and I-69 will be reconstructed to include added through and auxiliary lanes.
• Improvements will be made to three eastbound I-465 exits.
• New ramp lanes will be added from northbound I-465 to northbound I-69.
• The I-465/I-69/Binford Boulevard interchange will be reconstructed.
• Traffic to and from Binford Boulevard will be separated from interstate traffic between 75th Street and 82nd Street.
• Traffic to and from 82nd Street will be separated from interstate traffic between 82nd Street and I-465.
• Of the 26 existing bridges, a total of 16 bridges will be improved, including 12 new bridges and four bridges that will be rehabilitated and widened. Construction is expected to begin in early 2022 with improvements open to traffic by the end of 2025. The project will support the future, national I-69 corridor and the I-69 corridor being completed in Indiana.
