still pinching myself that we got to stand behind the lens and capture the earliest moments of coming to life. the best part is that this was only a soft opening (!!!!!!!) because this month Joy the Baker is officially opening the bakehouse to bellville (dec 20th) and the excitement feels, the only word i know to use is *electric* because if you know joy, then you know nothing is half assed. it is allllllll the way all in and somehow makes everything and everyone feel a little more alive.

i have said it before but there is something sacred about watching a friend’s vision take shape. but watching them step into their dream and watching people meet her for the first time and light up because they know exactly who she is, that is a whole other kind of epic. the kind of moments i want my entire life to be full of and my sim card to be overflowing with!

joy, i adore you. i am endlessly inspired by the way you create beauty in everrrrrything you put your mind to (literally everything), and i feel truly honored that you trusted me to capture moments as tender and meaningful as these.

stoked out of my mind to officially have our first employee at stoked marketing 💃🎊🍾🤙🏼 an austinite with the exact kinda vibe we have been hoping for!

we met for coffee and she was the rare 2 percent. the part people hold back, the honest part, the heart part. she told me she loves the people who share that last 2 percent instead of the easy 98 and that is when i knew she was my kinda person.

she is expecting her first baby girl (we both sweat and question pregnancy pants when filming in the pipe yard on a sunny day), makes sourdough like it’s a love language, and proudly believes christmas should go up before thanksgiving. honestly, that might just have been the moment i knew she was my kinda person!

she is family oriented, a little crunchy, a certified firecracker (her husband’s words and honestly… same), and the kind of outdoorsy, dog loving, life loving human that fits the face, the vibe, and the work ethic stoked wants to be known for.

and somehow she showed up in the busiest season we have ever had, right when stoked needed someone with heart, grit, and a willingness to jump in with both hands and heart wide open.

the vibe, the look, the spirit. she is it.

we are growing. we are building. we are leveling up.
and she feels like the perfect fit!

watching Joy the Baker bring her vision to life after months of dreaming and planning and prepping felt unreal
i filmed the whole thing with teary eyes and an inspired lens
because you could feel the heart in every detail

i feel so honored to capture moments where dreams take their first breath and new stories start to write themselves :, )

prayers for this sweet sangha of monks who we had the honor and privilege of interviewing during their stay in Bellville 🫶🏼

If you remember our Sangha video where we sat in the open fields with them, wrapped in saffron cloth, watching them whisper their prayers into the cold evening air, hands folded with a gentleness that felt almost ancient, please join us in prayer as they have been in an accident.

Their peace was interrupted on their way through Dayton, Texas. The monks were involved in an accident that left two of them injured. And something about that news settled heavy on our hearts. Maybe because we had just sat beside them. Maybe because suffering feels different when it touches someone who brought peace into your own community. Maybe because pain always feels closer when you have seen the face behind the robe and had the chance to know the quiet sincerity of their hearts.

So today, we are asking our community of Bellville to pray.

Pray for healing over their bodies.
Pray for comfort over their minds.
Pray for peace to settle over them in a way that is unmistakably supernatural, a peace so real and so present that it wraps around them with the same warmth and certainty as the blanket pulled over their shoulders in this cold season.

But more than that, let us pray for their salvation in Jesus.
May the One who meets us in every valley meet them in theirs.
May His presence surround their steps.
May His love reveal itself in ways that are unmistakable, tender, and full of mercy.

And to our town of Bellville, thank you.

Thank you for welcoming them with open hearts.
Thank you for showing them the kind of kindness that makes Bellville feel like home to anyone who passes through.
Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus to the outcasts.
We are proud, so proud, to call this place our community.

Keep praying.
Keep loving.
Keep believing that God can use even this moment for something eternal.
