"Sharing in Christ's Suffering, Sharing in His Glory"

Jesus told His disciples that He would suffer, and they would face similar trials. Yet, He promised that those who overcome would sit with Him on the throne (Revelation 3:21). This is a powerful reminder that our sufferings are not in vain.

In Mark 10:40, Jesus said that sitting with Him on the throne isn't something He decides, but rather it's prepared for those who are worthy. And what's worthy? Overcoming suffering, just like Jesus did. When we endure trials for His name, we're not only following in His footsteps but also being counted worthy of a greater reward (Acts 5:41).

The Bible reminds us that suffering for Christ's name is a privilege (1 Peter 4:14). We're blessed when we're persecuted, and the Spirit of God rests upon us. When we suffer as Christians, we shouldn't be ashamed; instead, we should glorify God (1 Peter 4:16).

The key principle is clear: our faith will be tested, but we can trust in a faithful Creator (1 Peter 4:19). Our trials will be refined like gold, and when Jesus appears, our faith will be praised (1 Peter 1:7).

So let's not be ashamed of the Gospel. Let's stand firm in our faith, knowing that our sufferings are temporary, but the glory that awaits us is eternal.

"Embracing Weakness, Trusting God's Strength"

Just like you, I have weaknesses. But I've learned that God uses the broken and weak for His glory. Our weaknesses make us human and remind us of our need for Christ.

God's strength shines brightest in our vulnerabilities. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, it's written, "My strength is made perfect in weakness." This verse reminds us that God's power is revealed in our limitations.

God doesn't look for greatness or perfection; He calls those with willing hearts. Psalm 51:17 says, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise." A humble and surrendered heart is what God desires.

When doubts arise, trust that God's plan is perfect and His ways are higher than ours. Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord." God's wisdom surpasses ours, and His plan is always for our good.

As we follow God's calling, He promises to be with us always. Matthew 28:20 says, "And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." With this promise, we can face challenges with confidence, knowing God guides us.

So, don't be afraid to follow God's calling, even if you're unsure. Let God lead, and trust in His perfect plan. Surrender your doubts and fears, and step forward in faith. God will guide you every step of the way.

"WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO TRULY HUMBLE OURSELVES?"

Humility is key when faced with harsh words. It's natural to feel pain when others speak negatively about us, but it's our reaction that defines us, not their words. As humans with a sinful nature, we'll always encounter criticism, whether deserved or not.

The Bible teaches us to be humble at all times (Ephesians 4:2, 'With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love'). When someone speaks harshly about you, take a moment to assess yourself. Ask God to help you see if there's truth in their words. If so, 'Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head' (Psalm 141:5).

If their words are wrong, choose to be teachable and humble. Don't retaliate with harsh words. Instead, 'Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord' (Hebrews 12:14). Take their words as a reminder for future growth, and let them be a stepping stone to climb higher in God's eyes.

Remember, Jesus Himself was harshly spoken of, yet He replied not (Isaiah 53:7, 'He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth'). Let's strive to follow His example, walking in humility and peace, knowing that God is with us.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God' (Matthew 5:9). Let's choose to be peacemakers, even in the face of adversity, and trust that God will commend us for our humility.

"Closer to Jesus"

Drawing closer to Jesus is a journey of discovery and transformation. It's about immersing yourself in His Word, allowing it to guide you, and applying its truths to your life. As you do, you'll begin to understand your purpose and live a life that reflects His love.

Every day may bring its battles with sin, but with the Holy Spirit dwelling within you, you have the power to overcome. 'For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind' (2 Timothy 1:7, KJV).

To truly say you're closer to Jesus, you must:

β€’ Get into His Word and let it transform you (Psalm 119:105, 'Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path')
β€’ Apply His teachings to your life, becoming a living epistle (2 Corinthians 3:2-3, 'Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men')
β€’ Let His love shine through you, making Him visible to those around you (Matthew 5:16, 'Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven')

When you live God's Word, you become a beacon of hope, inspiring others to seek Him. People may notice the difference in you and say, 'This person is close to Jesus.' Remember, we're not living for others, but for Him. As we abide in His Word, His presence shines through us, and others take note.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord' (Colossians 3:16, KJV).

Supporting our fellow Christians is important, especially if they're growing in their faith. Instead of being envious of their growth, we should be inspired by their progress and use it as a motivation for us to grow in the faith as well.

Philippians 2:3 emphasizes that we should be humble and appreciate others' progress without envy.

Similarly, Galatians 6:4 encourages us to focus on our own growth without the need to compare ourselves to others.

It is important for us Christians to be encouraged by others rather than envious because it helps us grow in the faith as well.
