"Sharing in Christ's Suffering, Sharing in His Glory"
Jesus told His disciples that He would suffer, and they would face similar trials. Yet, He promised that those who overcome would sit with Him on the throne (Revelation 3:21). This is a powerful reminder that our sufferings are not in vain.
In Mark 10:40, Jesus said that sitting with Him on the throne isn't something He decides, but rather it's prepared for those who are worthy. And what's worthy? Overcoming suffering, just like Jesus did. When we endure trials for His name, we're not only following in His footsteps but also being counted worthy of a greater reward (Acts 5:41).
The Bible reminds us that suffering for Christ's name is a privilege (1 Peter 4:14). We're blessed when we're persecuted, and the Spirit of God rests upon us. When we suffer as Christians, we shouldn't be ashamed; instead, we should glorify God (1 Peter 4:16).
The key principle is clear: our faith will be tested, but we can trust in a faithful Creator (1 Peter 4:19). Our trials will be refined like gold, and when Jesus appears, our faith will be praised (1 Peter 1:7).
So let's not be ashamed of the Gospel. Let's stand firm in our faith, knowing that our sufferings are temporary, but the glory that awaits us is eternal.
