Just Once June closed with a very special performance at ⭐️ 89 North Music Venue ⭐️ as the band was weirdly locked in from the opening note. Put a star next to this one - we can’t wait to hear the recording 🙂🎶 This brings our final song count for up to 117!! The Grateful Dead played 117 unique songs in 1974 — the same year Mars Hotel (which includes “Pride of Cucamonga”) was released. And the boys just happened to debut that very song last night… 🤯✨

Long Island has some strong juju 🌊🌀 in bringing out the best in Shakedown Citi! 💀🎸

DEBUT:
🎤 Pride of Cucamonga – featuring bass player Matt “Snake” Lasurdo 🐍 on lead vocals. This challenging Phil Lesh composition 📀 featured on the 1974 studio album From the Mars Hotel 🏨 was NEVER performed live by the Grateful Dead. We see it being a regular part of the Shakedown repertoire moving forward! 🚀

🎤 Dixie Chicken – Little Feat 🐓 and the Dead certainly have their crossover connections 🌉 – Lowell George (the man who wrote the song “Dixie Chicken”) produced the Shakedown Street album. With a little bit of Shakedown jammy flair 🌈, this laid back familiar groove seamlessly slotted right in 🎷💃.
