Black Truffle Records Black Truffle Records is a label run by Australian musician Oren Ambarchi. This page is not maintained or managed by Oren Ambarchi.

Personal messages will not reach him via this page. The French black truffle is considered the finest of the edible fungi and has a place in gastronomy alongside saffron, caviar, foie gras and the finest of wines. Widely considered as the jewel of French cooking it is prized for its unique flavour and intoxicating aroma. The resident chef at Black Truffle Records has found that the best method for finding the "diamond of the kitchen" requires the use of a divining stick and facing into the sun. This is the official BT page, but it is not managed by Ambarchi himself, so replies to queries may be irregular. Black Truffle is not accepting demos. The label is a curated passion project of Oren Ambarchi and most of the releases are pre-planned and commissioned.

The release date for Dewa Alit & Gamelan Salukat’s new album “Baur Bentur” from Black Truffle is now officially announced, and it’s June 19th!

The album comes with two of Dewa Alit’s new compositions for Gamelan Salukat and a piano.
But it’s probably a bit different from what most of you expect, as our pianist Sri Hanuraga himself says in his article for Kompas media:

“The first time I read the score while listening to the MIDI demo, I thought it was some kind of piano concerto. But from the very first rehearsal, it was clear that no single facade dominated either in terms of timbre or melody. As Stiegler's concept of economy of contribution suggests, there's no hierarchy. Everything blends together, even in the second movement, when the complexity reaches its peak. Independent melodic cells blend and clash, without dominating.”
