Red Lobster is making a bold comeback under new CEO Damola Adamolekun, who took the reins in August 2024 following the company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Backed by a $60 million investment, Adamolekun has launched a major turnaround strategy focused on revitalizing the brand’s identity, updating its menu, and attracting a younger, value-seeking customer base. His leadership marks a fresh direction after the chain faced financial struggles, including supply chain issues and mismanagement of promotions like the unlimited shrimp deal.
A key feature of the revamp is the introduction of seafood boil bags, a nod to traditional Southern-style boils. The menu now features two options: the Mariner’s Boil, which includes lobster tail, shrimp, and snow crab; and the Sailor’s Boil, which includes shrimp and smoked sausage—both served with red potatoes and corn, plus a choice of garlic butter, Cajun butter, or Old Bay seasoning. These items are central to the brand’s seasonal Crabfest, launching June 23 and running through mid-September 2025.
In addition to food upgrades, Red Lobster is also rolling out a national Happy Hour, featuring $5 drink specials such as sangria flights and signature cocktails, along with discounted appetizers available on weekdays from 3–6 p.m. This move is part of a wider push to create a fun, affordable dining experience while boosting weekday traffic. The menu changes and promotions reflect Adamolekun’s strategy of making bold yet financially smart changes to rebuild customer trust and excitement around the brand.
