𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐚 | Out Now!

Spanning three decades of work, Nova presents a retrospective of Tobias Picker’s chamber music, performed by some of the twentieth century’s most renowned musicians. These pieces chart Picker’s artistic evolution, showcasing his distinct compositional voice. Featuring performances by Peter Serkin, The Manhattan Quartet, Emmanuel Ax, Lynn Harrell, Fred Sherry, and others, the album highlights Picker’s deep engagement with instrumental storytelling. The title piece, Nova—a companion to Schubert’s Trout Quintet—playfully nods to a different kind of “Nova”: Nova Scotia salmon.

𝕋𝕙𝕦𝕞𝕓𝕡𝕣𝕚𝕟𝕥 | Out Now!

The live cast recording from LA Opera’s production of Kamala Sankaram’s acclaimed opera Thumbprint tells the story of Mukhtar Mai, a young Pakistani woman who overcame incredible odds to seek justice. A first of its kind, the score melds the South Asian systems of raga and tala, the sounds of qawwali and Bollywood, and the structures and vocal fireworks of Western opera. This sold-out run was the final production where Kamala Sankaram also sang the role of Mukhtar, praised by the LA Times as “a rousing double threat, a compelling singer… You don’t leave the theater unimpressed or unmoved.”
