Chef just made history at the World Jollof Festival! She cooked 200 bags of rice to feed 20,000 people, in a bid to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest pot of Nigerian-style jollof rice.

🔍 What Went Down
• She had initially planned 250 bags but scaled down to 200 bags (≈ 4,000 kg of rice) to stay within the weight limit of the scale & crane needed for official record certification.
• The event drew over 20,000 registered food lovers to Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
•It took nearly nine hours to cook the giant pot, after months of planning and fabrication.

💬 What She Said
“This 4,000 kilogrammes of rice is 200 bags of rice, and it will still feed 20,000 people.”

She also explained the reduction from 250 to 200 bags was about safety and the maximum capacity of the weighing and lifting equipment.

🚨 What’s Next
• Guinness World Records is reviewing photo, video & weight evidence to confirm the record.
• Meanwhile, the food has been packed up and is being served in takeaway packs to everyone who came. Because feeding the nation was always part of the goal.

If approved, this will be another major win for — not just a record, but a celebration of community, culture, and generosity.

Lawrence Oyor Is the Gospel Artist of the Year

In a music landscape dominated by Afrobeats, pop, and amapiano, Lawrence Oyor’s win feels quietly groundbreaking. Earlier this year, his worship anthem Favour became the most-streamed Nigerian track on Spotify overtaking even the heavyweight releases of Wizkid and Burna Boy.

More than an award, this moment shifts the conversation. Oyor’s rise shows gospel not as a niche corner of the industry, but as music that is both deeply spiritual and widely embraced-a whisper of worship that has grown into a national chorus.

It is proof that in a world chasing hype, stillness and spirit can also lead.

Why Is The Internet Surprised Temi Otedola Took Her Husband’s Name?

Temi Otedola and Mr Eazi’s wedding wasn’t just a celebration! It was a global affair, stretching from Monaco to Dubai to Iceland. Vogue called it a “three-continent wedding extravaganza,” complete with tradition, couture, and music under the Northern Lights.

Yet it was Temi’s quiet Instagram update “Mr and Mrs Ajibade” that sparked the loudest conversation. By taking her husband’s name, she stirred questions of identity, legacy, and choice.

This isn’t about feminism versus tradition, but about what names mean today. Temi’s decision feels less like surrender and more like evolution: a woman carrying her past while boldly choosing her future.
