The depth of chaos from the victim of a narcissist
You'll never understand unless you've been there
In the hurricane that was supposed to be loving
The confusion and pain so vast it swallows you whole

Departing such a cycle becomes difficult with each step
The detachment a thing to force to achieve your freedom
It's terrifying to walk this path alone, to need to do so
Because your traversing lies, manipulation and loss of self

As the years progressed you faded from yourself, utterly gone
While this horrid person conditioned you into being their ideal
Selecting parts they desired and casting the imperfect aside
You were never enough, no word or deed ever truly qualified
