MALA-GRANDMASTER SA 1ST LABSCHOOLS OLYMPIC CHESS; BATA MULA LJHS
ni: Dan Asher Rivera

Matapos ang mainit na laban sa Men’s Division Chess, nagtagumpay ang pambato ng Phoenix Flames na si Robert S. Madriñan, na kahit nasa ikapitong baitang pa lamang ay ipinakita ang kanyang husay at determinasyon sa laro. Sa kabila ng kanyang murang edad, nagawa niyang talunin ang mga mas nakakatandang manlalaro mula sa senior high school.

Naging mahigpit ang laban sa semi-finals, kung saan nagtapos sa ikatlong puwesto ang Poseidon Tridents matapos ang dalawang rematch laban sa Phoenix Flames at Spartans Titans. Sa huli, humarap si Robert kay Macky Madaje ng Spartans Titans, isang Grade 12 player, ngunit hindi rin napigilan ng mas nakatatandang manlalaro sa init ng estratehiya ni Robert.

Sa final game, buong tapang na nilupig ni Madriñan ang kanyang senior at itinataas ang pangalan ng Phoenix Flames bilang kampeon ng naturang laban.

LABHIGH OLYMPICS 2024, NAGSIMULA NA

Isinulat nina Jedidiah Marie D. Minor at Francine Marie O. Delera

Matagumpay na sinimulan ang LabHigh Olympics 2024 dito sa Palawan State University Gymnasium nitong ika-1 ng Oktubre 2024. Sinumulan ito ng makulay na parada mula sa PSU Landmark kasama ang buong PSU Laboratory Elementary School at PSU Laboratory High School. Pinangunahan ng Spartan Titans ang pagpasok sa Gymnasium kasabay ng kanilang malalakas na hiyawan at sigawan. Kasunod nito ang Poseidon Tridents na nagpakita at nagpamalas ng kakaibang lakas sa kanilang hiyawan. Pinakahuli naman ang Phoenix Flames na nagpaliyab ng init sa buong sulok ng lugar.

Sinimulan ang programa ni Dr. Mary G. Alvior kasabay ang pagpapakilala ng bawat grupo na maglalaban-laban para sa LabHigh Olympics 2024.

Nagpasiklab din ang Spartan Titans, Poseidon Tridents, at Phoenix Flames sa kanilang yell dahil mayroong katapat na parangal ang labanang ito. Bilang parangal sa mga nagwagi, nanalo ang Phoenix Flames ng Best Yell at Most Cheerful Team. Nagwagi naman ang Poseidon Tridents ng Most Creative Team at Most Active Team. Hindi rin naman nagpahuli ang Spartan Titans na nakatanggap ng parangal na Most Disciplined Team at Most Spirited Team.

Kaya naman PSUans, abangan ang iba pang mga balita para sa LabHigh Olympics 2024!

Phoenix Flames defeats Poseidon Tridents in opening futsal match

The Phoenix Flames secured victories against the Poseidon Tridents in both the boys' and girls' divisions during the first futsal match of a round-robin tournament. The game commenced at 2 PM at the City Sports Complex, marking the start of the competition, which includes three teams: Phoenix Flames, Poseidon Tridents, and Spartan Titans.

The Phoenix Flames won both matches. With this result, the Flames move forward in the tournament, while the Poseidon Tridents look ahead to their next match. The Spartan Titans will face both teams in the upcoming games.

PSU Lab School Olympics 2024 opens with a parade and pageant

The PSU Lab School Olympics 2024 started on October 1, 2024, with a parade and an opening program. Students and teachers gathered at the PSU Landmark early in the morning and marched to the PSU Gymnasium.

The event began with the teams—Spartan Titans, Poseidon Tridents, and Phoenix Flames—entering the gym. The team leaders raised their banners while Yuan Brix Baarde led the Oath of Sportsmanship.

The pageant also took place, featuring representatives from elementary, junior high, and senior high levels. Each candidate showed their sports outfits and shared their advocacy. The winners were crowned as Mr. and Ms. Sportsfest, along with 1st and 2nd runners-up.

𝐏𝐒𝐔 𝐋𝐉𝐇𝐒 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐔𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐘 𝐍𝐀 𝐍𝐀𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐖𝐀

Matagumpay na naisagawa ang PSU LJHS Grand Rally 2024 dito sa Palawan State University Amphitheater nitong Biyernes, ika-20 ng Setyembre 2024. Naging makulay at masaya ang daloy nito para sa mga komunidad ng Laboratory Junior High School lalo na sa mga kandidato na tumakbo sa bawat partido ng K*K at BISIG.

Ayon kay SBG Adviser na si G. Ahiah Presto, isang paraan ang grand rally upang maipakita ng mga mag-aaral ang kanilang kakayahan at plano sa pamumuno na lubos na makatutulong sa mga mag-aaral upang makapili nang pinakamahuhusay na opisyales.

“Sa pamamagitan ng Grand Rally, ipinakita ng mga candidates para sa National ang kanilang critical at creative thinking skills sa pagsagot sa mga questions kanina sa Fast Talk at sa Debate.”

Pinangunahan naman ng LJHS COMELEC ang buong daloy ng programa kasama ang COMELEC Chairperson na si Bb. Micah Yllena Manalo na naniniwalang naging matagumpay ang grand rally para sa taong-panuruang ito.

“Sa tingin ko naman, Oo. Kasi na-accomplish naman namin ‘yong mga kailangan naming gawin,” ayon kay Manalo.

Tapang at galing naman ang ipinamalas sa atin ng bawat partido sa buong programa. Sa bawat salita at galaw ay makikita rin natin ang kanilang dedikasyon at pagmamahal para sa mga estudyante ng LabHigh. Hiyawan galing sa mga upuan ang maririnig kapag sinisigaw ang mga partidong K*K at BISIG. Magkaiba nga ang partido ngunit iisa ang layunin para sa mga tao

Pinangunahan ang partidong K*K nina Bb. Xyra Levi Montealegre at Bb. Therese Andrea Paa na mga mag-aaral mula sa ika-10 na baitang. Layunin nilang magpatupad ng maraming plataporma at tulungan ang mga estudyante sa LabHigh. Kasama rin ang kanilang mga kaakibat sa partidong K*K ang mahuhusay na mga tumakbong Senador na sina Bb. Abella, Bb. Balmonte, Bb. Farrales, Bb. Yayen, G. Dimaano, at G. Garibay.

Ayon sa tumakbong Presidente na si Bb. Montealegre, “I think I can be their voice. I could be the one to listen to their suggestions and make their suggestions into a reality. Not only that, I think I have enough expertise in managing and I have a lot of experience in leadership. That’s why I think I can offer a lot to the LJHS Community.”

Hindi rin naman nagpahuli ang partidong BISIG sa laban. Pinangunahan ito nina Bb. Nissi Rain Abrina at Bb. Elrah Gelliana Cervantes na mula rin sa ika-10 na baitang. Nais nilang maging boses ng mga estudyante at magkaroon ng isang magandang bayan ang LabHigh. Handa rin tumulong ang kanilang mga tumakbong Senador na sina Bb. Dalma, Bb. Basilio, Bb. Itaralde, Bb. Monroid, G. Correa, G. Sese, at G. Doblado para sa kanilang mga layunin.

Ayon naman sa tumakbong Presidente na si Bb. Abrina, “For me, I would like to be a flashlight. Why? Because when there is darkness, you follow the light. It’s like being a leader, leading them to a right path and a bright future.”

Sa pagtatapos ng PSU LJHS Grand Rally 2024, nasaksihan ang ‘di malilimutang okasyon sa ating buhay bilang mag-aaral. Nakilala natin ang mga mahuhusay at pursigidong mga estudyante na layuning baguhin at gawing isang masaya at makulay na bayan ang LabHigh. Kaya naman, ihanda ang inyong mga sarili ngayong taon dahil makakasama na natin ang bagong Student Body Government 2024. Laging tandaan, ang lider na tapat at nararapat ay handang ibigay sa LabHigh ang dapat at sapat.

PalSU Laboratory High School joins the opening program of the Unified Private Schools (UPS) Meet 2024 on January 13 at the Ramon V. Mitra Jr. Sports Complex.

The Blue Candors were hailed as champions in the cheerdancing competition held on December 7, 2023 at the PSU Gymnasium.

They won 1st place with a total of 98.4 points, followed by the Dauntless with 98 points, then Amity who got 91.8 points.

Because of this year’s cheerdancing competition, many of the cheer dancers were able to enhance and show their exceptional talents in dancing, as they also amazed all the audience and the judges with their performances.

One of the cheer dancers from the Blue Candors, Vienne Bacomo, said “Marami akong natutunan lalo na yung mga stance, pagbuhat, at maraming steps sa cheerdance na hindi ko alam noon.” She also added, “Ang gagaling din ng ibang team, akala ko 2nd lang kami pero nanalo, grabe!”

Win or lose, everyone seemed to have fun in this year’s cheerdancing competition, and are looking forward to a more challenging, exciting, and meaningful event next year. Cheers!

Dauntless wins 26 gold medals during the LJHS Sportsfest swimming event.

The annual LJHS Sports Fest showcased an abundance of talent as the top swimmers from Lab High dove into a fierce competition last December 1, 2023. After a series of thrilling races, heart-pounding relays, and awe-inspiring strokes, the swimming event came to a close. The athletes concluded the game with a medal tally that reflected their unwavering dedication and prowess.

Nangunguna ang Dauntless na may 52 gintong medalya sa parsyal na tally ng Palawan State University-Laboratory Junior High School Sports Festival 2023. Sinusundan ng Amity na may 25 na ginto at Candor na may 19 ginto.

Ang naturang tally ay kinapapalooban ng resulta ng una at pangalawang araw ng Sports Fest na kinabibilangan ng archery, athletics, basketball, chess, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, at volleyball.

Samantala, bukas ay isasagawa na ang isa sa mga pinakainaabangang kompetisyon: ang cheerdance ng bawat koponan at mga championship games sa badminton, e-sports, futsal, at lawn tennis.

Abangan ang kapana-panabik na mga updates bukas at ang opisyal na resulta sa huling araw at awarding ceremony ng LJHS Sports Festival 2023.

LOOK || Candor Dominates Badminton Games Against Amity and Dauntless

Held on December 1, 2023, at the Sports Complex Evacuation Center, the Blue Candor team dominated the badminton clash against Amity and Dauntless. Demonstrating swift and accurate moves, the team secured victory in 8 out of 16 games.

Two standout players from the Candor Team, Krishka Anzel Bataller and Khrystn Antonnette Valdez, attributed their win to their team and parents. They acknowledged their inspiration drawn from South Korean badminton players An-Se-young, Lizzy Zhang, Elsa, and their teammates. They emphasized that their success stemmed from teamwork and trust.

Dauntless secured an overall second place, winning 5 out of 16 games. Highlighting their exceptional performance, two star players from the Dauntless team, Robert Joaquin Puno and Krysha Baac, credited their success to consistent training. Puno attributed his success on the court to an exercise called “Six Corners,” which improved his badminton footwork.

Meanwhile, Baac acknowledged her team and coaches for her achievements. Despite being the only grade 7 player in the sport, she managed her nervousness during the game, striving to give her best performance. She encouraged aspiring players, stating, “To those who aspire to be amazing badminton players, just try your best; even if you lose, it is still inspiring because, at the end of the day, you still did your best.”

Amity secured an overall third place, winning 3 out of 16 games. The team notably dominated the Mixed Doubles category. Ydnar Nelle Mendoza, a player from Amity, emphasized the importance of discipline and respect for his mentor in achieving success in badminton.

Amity, naiuwi ang pagkapanalo laban sa Candor, 2-0

Wagi ang Amity laban sa Candor sa game 1 ng Volleyball Boys sa iskor na 2-0 nitong Disyembre 1, 2023 sa Sports Complex.

Ayon kay Redd Andrey Castillo, captain ball ng Amity, naging mahalaga ang pagtutulungan at maayos na komunikasyon sa pagkapanalo ng kanilang grupo.

"Pinaka-important talaga is 'yong magkaroon ng good communication at never-give-up-attitude. Bawi lang nang bawi at 'wag ma-pressure. Swerte lang talaga kami dahil magagaling talaga at may experience na sa laro ang bawat isa.”, pahayag pa ni Castillo.

Narito ang mga naging iskor sa labanang Amity vs. Candor:
Unang Set: 25 (A) - 11 (C)
Ikalawang Set: 25 (A) - 14 (C)

Binabati naming muli ang Amity sa kanilang tagumpay! Pati na ang Candor na nagpakita rin ng kanilang angking galing sa isport na ito!

Dauntless, hinakot ang kampeonato sa Table Tennis

Iwinagayway ng Team Dauntless ang pulang bandera sa larong Table Tennis matapos nitong pagharian ang mga kategoryang Singles A (Boys), Singles A (Girls), Doubles (Girls) (Boys), at Mixed Doubles na ginanap sa Sports Complex covered court nitong Disyembre 1, 2023.

Samantala, hindi rin nagpatalo ang Team Amity, naiuwi nila ang pagkapanalo sa Singles B (Boys) at Singles B (Girls).

Abangan pa ang mga susunod na balita tungkol sa Sportsfest 2023!!!
