TOWN OF EASTON VOLUNTEERS

The Town of Easton is highly dependent on volunteers who serve on our boards and commissions to function effectively. As a result, the Board of Selectmen takes its obligation to protect those who serve in these positions from threat or harm very seriously. Those protections and other policies are listed in the “Welcome to Public Service” packet which all members receive after being sworn in. This packet is available on the town website. Go to ABOUT EASTON and SELECT Boards, Commissions and Committees (Openings and Information). Additionally, the town has an insurance policy from Travelers that covers board and commission members acting in their official capacity. This insurance policy can be viewed by the public at the Director of Finance’s office. Furthermore, the purposeful harassment of public officials, and specifically, the posting of personal information in public places is unacceptable. The Board of Selectmen is steadfast and united in its commitment to this principle.

42 years and counting! Marilyn Savard is always one of the first to welcome new members to the Easton Garden Club with kindness and enthusiasm. Yesterday she was recognized at their annual holiday party. Marilyn has been an active member serving in virtually every capacity from recording secretary to chairwoman. Through her work, she has continually furthered the club’s mission to protect our local environment and improve the quality of life in our town through charitable and educational activities. For her dedicated service, she received a commendation and lifetime membership from the Federated Garden Clubs. Pictured here from left to right are some of the club’s most beloved life members: Abby LePage who originally joined in 1974, Marilyn Savard joined up in 1981 and Judy Goldbecker who has been a member since 1972. Here they stand with Kelle Ruden who presented the award. Congratulation Marilyn and thank you for your service!
