Not enough credit is given to how Ron Paul helped fundamentally reshape the Republican Party.

Back in the 2008 and 2012 elections, Dr. Paul stood as a lone voice for peace within the pro-war GOP. He was ridiculed and laughed at by Bush / Cheney sycophants like John McCain and Mitt Romney.

But slowly, over time, his ideas took hold and helped influence many Republican voters to abandon neoconservatism and adopt a more non interventionist foreign policy.

Ironically, 18 years ago Paul found some degree of acceptance among the liberal media during a time when Democrats pretended to be against the Iraq War. Yet today his ideas would be much more unwelcome on liberal talk shows, as Dems have inexplicably adopted Cheneyism as one of their guiding principles.
