Cymarshall Law returns to B-Boys Underground tonight for his third appearance on the show.

There is a lot to catch up on.

On Saturday, August 29, Cymarshall Law and Slimline M***a release The Peaceful Warrior 3: Legacy of the Light, a 13-track continuation of their Peaceful Warrior series.

Among the records I want to spend some real time on is “The Storm,” featuring Skyzoo and the late Pumpkinhead, with cuts by DJ Phillip Lee.

That Pumpkinhead appearance carries history. Cymarshall has described PH as a friend and brother who took him under his wing early in his career. With the blessing of Pumpkinhead’s family, his voice now becomes part of this new chapter of the Peaceful Warrior story.

There’s also another side of Cymarshall’s work that has moved considerably since the last time we spoke. He released three books this year, including the Legacy of the Light novel and two children’s books, and brought that work into Barnes & Noble for an author signing.

Because this is our third conversation, we don’t have to start from zero. We can go back to what Cymarshall told us before, see what actually happened, and get into how the music, books, family, Hip-Hop and CyVision are beginning to connect.

Tonight on B-Boys Underground: ULTRAMAG7.

Aaron Phillips has an interesting perspective on Hip-Hop because he has spent years participating in the culture while also documenting it.

In the 2000s, he performed internationally alongside Princess Superstar. Today, he creates his Culture Clips, co-hosts The Prospective Podcast with Kotta Ranks at Philadelphia’s Khyber Pass Pub, hosts THE ULTRAMAG 7 interview series, and appears on It’s C-Doc Again, executive produced by Chuck D.

He is also still recording. His recent collaboration with producer and DJ Jazzsoon, “Chillin’ w/ ULTRA (Ronkonkoma),” has been making its way through underground Hip-Hop radio and DJ playlists.

Tonight I want to get beyond the résumé and into the experiences behind it.

We’ll talk about his earliest connection to Hip-Hop, performing and traveling, collecting records, becoming an interviewer, Culture Clips, The Prospective, THE ULTRAMAG 7, his relationships with Chuck D and C-Doc, Jazzsoon, physical media, and the responsibility that comes with preserving Hip-Hop history while still contributing to it.
