I struggled with an appropriate greeting for Rosh HaShanah….somehow have a good and sweet year seemed so trite and meaningless.
Then I thought about David Broza’s anthem to hope…..Yihye Tov….It will be good…..a song he hopes and prays to stop singing someday.
The following verse, translated, struck me as so relevant…
“people live under stress
looking for a reason to breathe
and between hatred and murder
they talk about peace.”
The ultimate hold out for hope….despite it all…still longing….
Isn’t that what we all want? Everyone? Regardless of race; religion; nationality?
So there you have it. My greeting…..
My prayer….
Keep the faith….dont ever lose hope….It will be good! But only if we make it so.
