This one stings

💔 This one hurts.

It is being reported tonight that Dennis Haskins, our forever Mr. Belding, has passed away at the age of 75.

For those of us who grew up with Saved by the Bell, Mr. Belding wasn’t just the principal of Bayside — he was part of the heart, humor and comfort that made this show so special to us.

Dennis gave us a character we’ve loved for decades, and his place in the Saved by the Bell family — and in our memories — will always remain. 🕊️

Thank you for all the laughs and all the memories, Dennis. Bayside won’t be the same without you. 💔

Mitchell County football teams are dominating this year!!!

The first rankings of the season by the IHSAA came out today and Saint Ansgar is No. 3 in Class A and Osage is No. 9 in Class 2A. Riceville is not ranked but the Wildcats are closing in on a spot in the 8-player post season.

Aaron Boge spent 23 years with the Osage Community School District as a custodian and bus driver.

“He was maybe the first person to say hello or good morning and the last to say good night to our kids,” former Superintendent Barb Schwamman said.

Thinking of Matt and his family! 🙏🏻

Wednesday Update from Mayville State QB Matt Donovan's dad Terry, as Matt recovers from a serious hit on the football field Saturday. Matt went to high school at Kasson-Mantorville.

His dad shares some progress today:

UPDATE ON MATT Wednesday
First of all, thank you to everyone for the continued support, messages, visits, and especially the prayers. Please keep them coming. They sure seemed to be working today.
Today we got a few of those little victories that don’t sound like much until you’ve lived through the last several days.
They were able to get Matt to cough on his own today. They also irritated his eye, and he tried to blink in response. Both were positive reactions, and we will take every one of them.
We also had a really special visitor. Brody Lamb’s grandma came up and brought Matt a rosary that had been blessed by Pope Francis. I put it right in Matt’s hand before heading to lunch with my great friend Aaron Richards.
When we came back, the medical team had been working to see if they could get any purposeful movement from Matt. They applied a painful stimulus to one of his toes on each foott, and Matt tried to pull his leg away.
Was it a huge movement? No.
But it was movement.
And today, that little movement was probably something his dad needed even more than Matt did.
He is still resting. There is still a very long road ahead, and there is absolutely no timeline for this. But anybody who knows Matt knows he has pretty much always operated on his own timeline anyway.
So today, Matt went 1–0.
A cough.
A blink.
A little movement of his leg.
Those are big wins in our world today.
We may be here for a while yet, and that is okay. There will probably be days with very little change, or maybe no change at all. Maybe Matt decided there was still one more lesson his dad needed to learn about patience.
We will take every little victory along the way.
Keep the prayers coming. We will continue to keep everyone updated.
And when it comes right down to it, if I am betting on anybody…
I’m betting on my son.
