We did it. 💙
In our most recent video, I gave you all a health update about some scary stuff that happened just the other weekend. In it, I also touched on the cardiac arrest I had last year at 26 — when my life was saved by CPR. Without it, I simply wouldn’t be here.
That experience is what inspired me to found Breathe Florida. Having survived because my friends knew what to do, I couldn’t stop thinking about how many people aren’t as fortunate. I wanted to make sure more young people had the knowledge and confidence to step up in a moment like that. That’s why I created this nonprofit — to help high school students get CPR certified at no cost to them.
That video only mentioned the nonprofit briefly, with a link in the pinned comment, but you all showed up in such a massive way. In just one week, we hit the $10,000 goal to sponsor CPR certification for every Brandon High School JROTC cadet this year. That’s around 160 students who will soon have lifesaving skills.
Moving forward, I’ll probably only do a direct fundraising push like this once a year — though we may also do some streams for it along the way, we’ll see. The long-term sustainability of Breathe Florida will come from larger sponsorships, grants, and partnerships — not from asking friends, family, and you guys to keep giving.
That said, this first push was absolutely critical. Your contributions didn’t just fund one project — they made this entire vision possible. By certifying Brandon High’s JROTC cadets, we’ll have the proof-of-concept to show future sponsors, partners, and grantmakers that this works.
This first initiative is the foundation. Without it, there would be no momentum, no story to point to, and no way to make the bigger asks later. Because of you, we’ll be able to say: “Here’s what we’ve already accomplished. Now help us take it further.”
I can’t overstate how grateful I am. Over half of the donations came from this YouTube community — from you. Thank you all so much. It honestly means the world to me that this initiative is becoming a reality. I really believe it’s so important, and it means a lot that you see the value in it too.
The best way to support us now isn’t necessarily with another donation, but by following along and helping spread awareness. That visibility will help us get larger sponsors and expand to even more schools.
