RUBY has always believed that food is never just sustenance — it is memory, identity, belonging, justice, and community. As Randall Kenan said, “Food is alive. Food is us.” Since our beginning, we’ve published fierce, surprising, tender, experimental food narratives that hold grief and love, harm and healing, biography and belonging.
With deep gratitude, I’m sharing that our next issue will be RUBY’s last. This magazine has been a labor of love, and it has been such an honor to read and publish work that grabs hold and won’t let go.
