Black Thorn Halo

This Austin based band has been ripping up the local stages for a few years bringing the thrash attack playing the style of music that will take you back to the early days of Testament, Overkill and Metallica. They keep the metal spirit alive through their songs and give the audience a solid set of original thrash and heavy metal songs. On Friday night they delivered a great set of their tunes, granted the crowd there was a bunch of old school metalheads and rockers that brought back the soul of the old metal clubs like The Back Room, The Black Cat, Redrum and even Liberty Lunch; sadly those clubs are just fond memories for many of us.
For all of you out there if these guys just happen to make an appearance in your town and you feel like jamming out to some good heavy metal go check them out, you can find them on the usual platforms as well.

Worm Su***de & The Devil Club
Well when you see the band listed in a lineup it usually just says Worm Su***de. These longtime Austin punk rockers have delivered a straight up Texas Punk Rock attack Everytime I've seen them. Their songs have a good sense of humor about them and I've always liked the mix of Texas punk with the influence of West Coast hardcore punk. If these guys show up on a bill in your city go check them out.

The return of M.O.D. Day 2 is about to kick off at RIP Coffee in Austin, TX.
"Unofficial" SXSW 2025.
Much stronger lineup today featuring some of the best local metal bands. Highlights should be Blood of Patriots, Cerebral Desecration and the black metal thrash act Sadistic Force. Get out early and be prepared for a late night because the show yesterday went till almost 1:45am.

Before calling it quits on Stoner Jam 2025 last night, Volume 11 caught the show from the band DUEL and it was a good one.
This Austin, TX band is described as a Doom/Stoner/Psychedelic metal band but last night it was a straight up hard rocking, heavy metal rip ride through just over thirty minutes of a good selection of their songs. Very uptempo show, they rocked it out for a decent sized crowd. This is a very tight band that knows how to work a stage, their songs are put together well and feature some great guitar solos. the rhythm section kept the set moving along at a blistering pace. Not speed metal but just a good driving fast beat. I really enjoyed the show and it was a good way to end the night. Metalheads, Keep an eye out for this band in case they show up at a show near you. Or check out one of their four albums that are available cuz these guys ROCK!!

Good morning Central Texas and Austin Metalheads. Today is the 1st show marking the return of M.O.D. (yes Billy Milano will be front and center) at RIP Coffee on S. Congress. Stay away from the downtown madness and get out early to check out the local thrashers Black Thorn Halo and the Texas punk stylings of Worm Su***de & The Devil Club. Also on the bill will be another return of sorts to S. Austin with The Skatenigs setting the mood for the headliners M.O.D. the cover is $10 at the door.
UPDATE: Doors at 6pm, show at 7pm.
Get out and rock out metalheads!!!

Whats up Vegas Rockers!!! One of your local bands played Stoner Jam 2025 today in Austin, Texas and Volume 11 got out of the real job in time to catch their set.
The band is called Sonolith and they rocked it hard with some good heavy riffs. They definitely were a little more upbeat than some of the other bands playing today with their songs mixing it up between the slower "stoner metal" riffs most people are familiar with and then ripping it up with some good metal faster tempos. I really dug their show, if we have any Vegas friends out there go check them out when they play the local bars and clubs, but for all of you check them out, you might dig it too.

Central Texas and Austin Metalheads. SXSW 2025 kicks off next week and this show should be a ripper. Taking place over two days, from what I've researched it's a $10 cover each day at the door. Each day/night features some of the best local and area bands with Billy Milano and M.O.D. taking the headlining spot each night. Volume 11 is gonna try and make it out Saturday night. Get out and tear it up metalheads!!
