The Sadie Lulu Gazette This page is dedicated to the people who work in shelters, rescue and foster animals and the wonderful pets these angels make.

Our mascot is Sadie Lulu from Flowery Branch, GA that was a stray and rescued by Evelyn's Place Rescue/Teresa Reynolds.

Good morning, everyone. 🌞 Just had a virtual meeting with my doctor, and here's a quick health update. Turns out, I've been diagnosed with CLL, the slow-acting leukemia. The doc mentioned a bone marrow procedure, but I'm holding off on that for now. Had a CT scan in February, and another one's on the horizon for comparison and to establish a baseline. Keeping an eye on my liver and spleen.

Now, the not-so-great news is that I've got leukemia, but the silver lining is, it's the slow-moving variety. It's given me a nudge to work on getting back into shape. Already shed 50 lbs. since last year. Dealt with a heart attack in September, and thanks to cardiac rehab, I'm now rocking a solid hour of cardio three times a week. Plan is to keep that up—determined to live with leukemia, not die because of it. 💪 Here's to focusing on the positive and taking life one day at a time! 🌈
