Quote From Head Coach – Megan Conner: “We could not be prouder of swimmer, Owen Lewis, and all he has achieved this season, specifically qualifying for and competing in the Kentucky State Long Course Championships,” said Head Coach, Megan Conner. “It is a tremendous achievement to qualify for this swim meet, and he competed exceptionally well, cutting times in both the 100 Fly and 50 Free. Owen accomplished all of this while distance training with me for the five weeks prior, as he was attending the Governor’s Scholarship Program at Morehead State University. His dedication and determination to pursue his goal of qualifying and competing in USA State Championships, while away from his team and home pool, demonstrate his tenacity as an elite athlete. We are confident this talented swimmer will continue to achieve great success in our next season and throughout his swimming career.”
Quote From Swimmer – Owen Lewis
(17 years old from Pulaski County, attends Pulaski County High School):
“Qualifying for, and competing at, the USA State Championship level was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for me. It showed me that all the hard work and dedication I have put into my swimming career have paid off. It also showed our community and others competing in USA Swimming that it doesn’t matter that we are a small team. Size doesn’t determine outcomes. Our swimmers and coaches have the passion and dedication to take us to the State Level.”
