Stellar Desecration EP is the latest release from Subsequent Records and a masterpiece by Argentine producer Luis Ruiz. This EP stands out for its focus on raw techno, a subgenre of techno known for its industrial and aggressive sound, featuring distorted basslines and rotten percussions. The album kicks off with the distinctive sound of the Roland TB-303 synthesizer, famous for its resonant basslines and its ability to produce "acid" sounds that have defined entire genres of electronic music. Ruiz uses this synthesizer to create hypnotic and immersive atmospheres, with constantly evolving sequence patterns.
Throughout the EP, Ruiz delves into the world of raw techno, characterized by the use of hardware synthesizers that allow for deep and detailed sound manipulation. The tracks feature complex sequences and rich textures, created by combining different modules that generate and process sounds in real-time. The flexibility of modular synthesizers allows Ruiz to experiment with rhythms and timbres, crafting unique and dynamic soundscapes.
The EP wraps up with a piece of experimental dark ambient, a subgenre known for its discordant tones and dark atmospheres, often using drones and noises to create a sense of unease. This final track challenges the conventions of techno, immersing the listener in a dark and mysterious environment, perfect for closing the EP on an introspective and experimental note.
