Angel Bat Dawid and Naima Nefertari, these two boundary-pushing and forward-thinking musicians, took us on a journey last week with their remarkable collaboration, ๐‰๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐ฒ ๐“๐จ ๐๐š๐›๐ญ๐š ๐๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ๐š, a powerful meditation on memory, mythology, and ancestral science, drawing deep inspiration from the ancient astrological stone circle of Nabta Playa, nestled in the remote deserts of Nubia.

They performed it live at .ldn, an intimate setting for an evening full of experimental soundscapes and sonic explorations of organic and electronic meditations, a sonic journey through sacred time and space into the deep deserts of Nabta Playa.

It was blessed by the presence of an original tapestry by , adorning the stage and setting the energy for the evening.

Accompanying the live performance was also a radio show on with Angle Bat Dawid and Naima Nefertari in conversation with on this remarkable album, followed by a listening session of Journey to Nabta Playa at hosted by , and a Q&A on the story, message and inspiration of the album.

Today weโ€™re celebrating the spirit and immeasurable legacy of John Coltrane, the father of spiritual jazz and one of the giants in the history of jazz.

Both our label and our artists have strong ties to the incomparable legendโ€™s music - our label being dedicated to Music for the Spirit, for one.

The spiritual jazz legend , has been carrying forward Coltraneโ€™s legacy and spirit - being deeply inspired by the Great Master, who always resonates in Elโ€™Zabarโ€™s compositions, and reimagining Coltraneโ€™s music in offerings like โ€˜Sketches of a Love Supremeโ€™ (Spirit Gatherer), โ€˜Resolutionโ€™ (A Time for Healing) and the incredible โ€˜Sketches of an Afro Blueโ€™ (America the Beautiful).

took part in a tribute to John Coltrane last month, marking the anniversary of A Love Supreme, while always honouring Coltraneโ€™s legacy in his musical and spiritual explorations through his own sound, deeply connected to the vision and teachings of Swamini Turiyasangitananda.

Today, we gather in celebration of the 88th solar return of Swamini Turiyasangitananda, whose teachings and channeling of music as a spiritual force continues to globally inspire and illuminate.

Swamini Turiyasangitananda - aka Alice Coltrane, has only expanded in influence over the years. Her music is appreciated not only for its stunning creativity but also its healing properties. As one of her students, is honouring his upbringing and musical teachings in the tradition of Swamini Turiyasangitananda, by the spiritual jazz colossus Herself, at Her Sai Anantam Ashram in California. Surya has experienced the power of Her music better than most. โ€˜People would pass out,โ€™ he says. โ€˜People would burst into tears of joy. This music completely went directly through the souls of everyone.โ€™

As part of a community event organised with the environmental organisation , Surya and close collaborator will celebrate the life and music of Swamini Turiyasangitananda with a devotional gathering at S. Mark Taper Amphitheatre, hosted, produced and documented by .la. In honouring Swaminiโ€™s eternal legacy, this yearly event allows her everlasting light to shine bright.

We are continually thankful for the presence of Swaminiโ€™s teachings and musical offerings in our lives, as well as all of those who carry her vision forward.
