808 Day comes a little early this year.

New from RainShadow - Mule Driver’s side project, resurfacing after first appearing in 2019. At Dusk is a ten-minute transmission, catching the tribe in the hour after the fires die down - post-apocalyptic, half-lit, slow-burning.

It’s also Bandcamp Friday, a good day to support the label and independent artists in general. We’ve dropped the price on a few vinyl releases, and added some old 808 Day Mule Driver releases to the VIP subscription.

After 4 years that i'm listening and playing it i can finally share it.

here are some words about the album:
Eli Talgi was born in Jerusalem in 1957. His childhood was marked by a technical lineage; his father moved to Germany to work for UHER, the legendary manufacturer of reel-to-reel tape recorders. This wasn't just a job; it was a family obsession with magnetism. Teenage Talgi bedroom had transformed where he spent days surrounded by wires and machines. Talgi was consumed by the process - splicing, looping, and manipulating tape with surgical precision. He was obsessive, investing every resource into synthesizers and gear, operating in total anonymity, crafting a sound aligned more with the electronic experiments of Sheffield or Berlin than with the Middle East. His music was a dialogue between man and the physical limits of magnetic tape, a laborious cycle, recorded in a vacuum-like basement space while the world outside remained blissfully unaware.

Our friend and longtime special agent in our main machinery room, Moot, dived into our back catalog and recorded an exciting mix. Listening to it is a journey through the label’s first 10 years, starting from our very first release. It lights up the label in colors that, in everyday activity, we tend to forget.

Moot, in his daring mix, moves from 90 BPM to full gas 140 techno. From the gentle side to the rough, revealing the label’s diversity and reminding me how much I like music.

Listening to it now, I’m proud of what we did and happy that Moot helped me see it.

The mix was recorded to mark the launch of the Confused Machines monthly Bandcamp subscription, giving subscribers access to the full back catalog, upcoming releases, and special subscriber-only material. (Link in bio)
