Taking place this coming Sunday, the Sunken Garden Society Eco Fair will be a day filled with fun workshops, inspiring talks and eco ideas for all.

With the focus of the day on wildlife, ecology, conservation, gardening in dry conditions and
sustainability, The Sunken Garden will host workshops and information points by forty representatives of local and national organisations sharing their important environmental work, including Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, Windmill Community Gardens Margate, Animal and Plant Health Agency, Bumblebee Conservation Trust, Kent’s Plan Bee and Bon Volks Swift Project.

From bike repairs to bee keeping, mushrooms to hops, growing edible plants to identifying bees and much more, there will be plenty to discover and discuss.

Have you visited Frost Editions yet?

Margate’s newest contemporary art gallery on Fort Hill is about to launch their second exhibition in the space, featuring a combination of 30 artists from emerging to established, including gallery founder Amy Frost’s grandad, the lauded painter Sir Terry Frost.

The exhibition entitled “End of Summer Exhibition” marks the turn of the season, and includes printmaking, painting, ceramics and more. It will platform many local artists including Charlie Evaristo-Boyce, Alyson Hunter, Carloine List, Mercedes Lucy, Jane Wright, Maximillion Boxer, Margo in Margate, Twinkle Troughton, and Margate Moss, among others.

End of Summer Exhibition launches from 6-8pm on Thursday 10th September, and runs until 4th October.

A huge congratulations to The Wellington in Margate’s Old Town on their recent inclusion in the Michelin Guide!

The classic pub and dining room, co-founded by Billy Stock and Ellie Topham, combines pub charm with French-inspired cooking, and a strong commitment to local produce. Having opened in December 2025, their rapid rise is a testament to the incredible food and drink offerings they’ve brought to the town.

Here is what MICHELIN Guide (official) has to say about them:

‘Deep in the heart of Old Margate, this attractive former inn has been given a new lease of life by a local couple. Chef Billy Stock butchers whole animals to underpin his daily handwritten menu of classic French and British dishes that burst with flavour despite only having a few elements on the plate. The simple, ingredient-led style is just as evident in seafood dishes such as succulent sea bass with plum tomatoes and a fresh herb salad of dill, chervil, mint and capers. A sun-drenched garden and well-priced wines add to the already mighty appeal.’
