Testimony of Salvation
One day a young man named Onyemachi ( not his real name) in one University in Port Harcourt of Nigeria, came back to his room. He had come back from a journey he went to Aba a town in Abia State of Nigeria. He had gone with his friend to visit his sister. As they drove in on his friends car, he was acussed of stealing money from one of his roommates. He was sure he didn't do it. Yet everyone was accusing him of stealing it. They believed he had gone with his friend to spend the money, as such the two were acussed. He was very sure he never did. Nobody believed him and he kept denying he did not do it.
Before then he had already made up his mind never to know God nor serve him. He said he did not want to be a Christian. His was very hard against anything Christianity. Infact, he was very satisfied of being a "Bad boy". He liked the name "bad boy" and enjoyed the feeling of being bad. His innermost and consciousness was happy to be called and known as a bad boy.
The question was he really that bad? He was not. Yet the euphoria of being known as bad drove him to join a campus organization known to be active in ritualistic activities.
On that day he returned to his room and was accused of stealing money from one of his roommates. He was sure he never did.
Everyone in the room was a suspect and each of them denied of knowing any thing about the money. Their roommates also gathered and said they had no knowledge of the missing money. Their mouth were all full of denials and testifying of innocence. Then they all agreed to fish out the thief through the native way by consulting an oracle. Since he was sure he never stole any money, Onyemachi and his friend agreed with them and they went to the oracle. When they got there, they were asked to swear to their lack of knowledge and innocence of the missing money. With the instrument of the oracle placed on their necks each of them came forward to swear.
One by one everyone they came out to deny their knowledge of the missing money. On getting to Onyemachi's turn the oracle cut him and started strangulating him. Yet he kept pleading his innocence. Nobody believed him no matter how he pleaded innocence and cried. All of them called him the thief they were looking for. "He had been caught", they said.
When he was finally left after being given a concoction that freed him, he was devastated and went into mourning. He decided not to do anything again with the people including the friend he traveled with. He felt rejected and lonely.
On one side was God he said he never liked, he wanted to be a bad boy. On the other side was the darkness of evil he wanted to be a part of that was disappointing him. The dark side here was one making him a culprit of what he said he didn't know. Who was he now going to turn to? Who was he going to serve? Who was going to believe him? This left him in a state of confusion as he was much troubled and left with the feeling of having been openly disgraced.
knowing fully well he didn't steal any money and feeling highly disappointed of being accused wrongly, he was highly saddened. He went back to his room and locked himself out of world in his corner. He did not go out nor leave his room for three days except to visit the convenience. Without talking to anyone he stayed that way, totally shutting himself from anything external. His appetite for food ceased as he could not eat anything those days. At a point he started considering su***de but could no do it.
A day came when a two day campus crusade organized by fellowship students was on going that he decided to walk to the crusade ground. On the crusade ground the first day nothing happened as he was totally absent minded and lost in his sadness. He decided to go again the second day because they announced a movie for that day. It was there on that ground that he watched the movie " The Pilgrim Journey" this touched his heart. Yet his hard heart refused to give in to Christ. He went back to his room and began to meditate on the whole scenario and everything began to dawn on him. He saw the true picture why has to give his life to Christ and he did. He felt it was the best for him. There in that state he got a visitation from God. Jesus met him right in his and his story changed. The God he said he never wanted arrested him there. And he surrendered himself to Christ.
Today he is an experienced Pastor working for God for almost 30years.What of you? When the world failed you what do you do? Do you stick to it or run to God your creator. Everyone has one way or the other had an open disappointment before. It might be from friends, neighbours or sibblings. What would you do if it were you? Would you learn a lesson from this man and give it all to God? The world probably having wrongly accused you before. Pastor Onyemachi went ahead to become God's servant with complete commitment.
The bottom line to this testimony is for you to surrender your life to God. The world would always disappoint you but God will never. If you are ready for that just say "Yes" and ask him to forgive you of your known sins. Invite Him into your life. Accept Jesus as your Lord and personal saviour . You will begin to see His manifestations and your journey with Him will begin.
