"Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it's a feather bed." - Terence McKenna

We introduce a novel hypothesis which states that the therapeutic utilisation of psilocybin has beneficial effects on genetic aging. Ex hypothesi, we predict a priori that controlled psilocybin interventions exert quantifiable positive impact on leucocyte telomere length (telomeres are a robust pred...

UPGRADE YOUR BRAIN, UPGRADE YOUR LIFE 🧠

🎯Our brain impacts how we think, feel, act, and interact. Our brain is the most complex organ in our body, with over 100 billion neurons and trillions of supporting cells. Our brain accounts for only 2% of our body's weight but uses 20-30% of our calories per day, and our daily behaviors can accelerate or decelerate aging in the brain. It is backed by science that a healthier brain leads to happier and more successful lives.

👁Five tips to implement today to decelerate aging in the brain and boost brain reserves!

😴Get a great night’s sleep (less sleep = less blood flow to the brain)

🤸🏻‍♂️Move throughout the day + exercise regularly (walking, gym, yoga, or your favorite mindful movement) + strength training several times a week.

🧘🏻‍♂️Meditate (Beginners can use or )

🙏🏼Practice gratitude, a grateful brain is healthier than a hateful brain.

🫐Nourish your body and brain with clean, organic, whole foods, reduce your sugar intake, increase your dark leafy greens, protein, antioxidants, and healthy fats!

Is there a correlation between posture and cognition?

A mass survey of citizens aged 50 to 89 years examined whether cognitive decline could be detected by sagittal spinal balance measurement based on a radiological approach.

When viewed from the side, the more the head and neck protrude in front of the pelvis, the more likely subjects are to show symptoms of mild cognitive decline.

Language of fungi derived from their electrical spiking activity

Mushrooms communicate with each other using up to 50 ‘words’, scientist claims

Clickable link to the article at PaulStamets.com

FTA: Fungi exhibit oscillations of extracellular electrical potential recorded via differential electrodes inserted into a substrate colonized by mycelium or directly into sporocarps. We analysed electrical activity of ghost fungi (Omphalotus nidiformis), Enoki fungi (Flammulina velutipes), split gill fungi (Schizophyllum commune) and caterpillar fungi (Cordyceps militaris). The spiking characteristics are species specific: a spike duration varies from 1 to 21 h and an amplitude from 0.03 to 2.1 mV. We found that spikes are often clustered into trains. Assuming that spikes of electrical activity are used by fungi to communicate and process information in mycelium networks, we group spikes into words and provide a linguistic and information complexity analysis of the fungal spiking activity. We demonstrate that distributions of fungal word lengths match that of human languages. We also construct algorithmic and Liz-Zempel complexity hierarchies of fungal sentences and show that species S. commune generate the most complex sentences.

Fellow Myconauts

We are greatly honored to notify you of our new paper published in Nature's Scientific Reports

Freely available online at www.nature.com/articles/s41598-021-01811-4

Using app available at microdose.me, our team worked for more than two years gathering data on more than 8000 people, and within this set there is a surprising balance of more than 4000 non-microdosers compared to more than 4000 microdosers.

We hope this data will be useful for informing physicians in designing clinical studies.

We will have some more updates soon. Very exciting times!

We all are part of a great community, and...one giant consciousness.

We have much work to do. We have a planet and people to save.

Thank you deeply for your support on this shared journey.

Stay safe. Be hopeful. We can co-invent our future together.

Respectfully, Paul
