🇸🇬 BUILDING A MODERN NATION TOGETHER 🏙️✨
As Singapore marks 60 years of independence, we honour the bold spirit of our early nation-builders through the lens of Modern architecture 🧱🏢.

This commemorative stamp series captures five iconic landmarks—testaments to vision, resilience, and unity in diversity:
📦 Former Customs Harbour Branch (late 1960s)
🎤 Former Singapore Conference Hall and Trade Union House (1965)
🏢 Former Golden Mile Complex (1973)
📚 Queenstown Public Library (1970)
🏥 Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital Main Block (1960)

These buildings weren’t just structures — they were symbols of progress, social purpose, and multicultural ambition as we shaped our young nation together.

FLORA OF COASTAL FORESTS
Singapore is home to more than 2,000 species of endemic and native species. Despite losing more than 90% of our original vegetation by 1900 and urbanisation and development since the 1960s, our greenery continues to flourish. This is due to careful planning and implementation of conservation strategies such as the Species Recovery Programme under the National Parks Board's (NParks) Nature Conservation Master Plan, which aims to conserve native flora and fauna, thereby ensuring their long-term survival in both our natural and urban environments. As an island nation, Singapore has many coastlines which are often covered with coastal plant species. Coastal vegetation is mainly found in mangrove forests, sandy beaches and rocky shores or cliffs such as those at Pulau Ubin, Labrador Nature Reserve and offshore islands like Sentosa and St. John's Island. These coastal habitats are characterised by seemingly inhospitable conditions such as high light intensity, exposure to wind, salt spray and a vəstly changeable environment from the shiffing tides.
To highlight some of these resilient native coastal plant species conserved under Singapore's Species Recovery Programme, the four featured in this stamp issue are the Cordia subcordata, Nephroia orbiculata, Ormocarpum cochinchinense and Ficus stricta. SG Stampers NParks

Peranakan Museum
Discover the rich heritage of the Peranakan culture at The Peranakan Museum! From intricate beadwork to vibrant porcelain, every exhibit tells a story of tradition and fusion. 🏺✨

The Peranakan Museum presents the cross-cultural art of Peranakan communities in Southeast Asia. Installed in the former Tao an School, built in 1912, it holds one of the world's finest public collections of Peranakan objects. Three floors explore Peranakan life through themes related to origins, home, and style as aspects of identity. Community interviews, recorded demonstrations, art commissions, and other contemporary expressions of Peranakan culture provide a multi-faceted experience for visitors, encouraging them to ask themselves:
''What is Peranakan?''.

This stamp issue features items that explore Peranakan life. The Peranakan Museum is a department of the Asian Civilisations Museum, operating under the National Heritage Board.
