Lucsuhenyo Journos Ink Victory at Sub-Office Press Tilt

Lucsuhin National High School (LNHS) student journalists emerged victorious at the Sub-Office Press Conference, showcasing their writing prowess and journalistic skills against fellow young journalists in the area.

The Lucsuhenyo journalists secured top spots in various individual and group categories, demonstrating their competence in sports writing, column writing, editorial writing, science and technology writing, phoyojournalism, layouting copyeditinh and other journalism events.

Their strong performances reflected the dedication of the student journalists, coaches, and School Paper Adviser, who underwent intensive training and preparation before the competition.

The victories also highlighted the continuous efforts of LNHS to strengthen its campus journalism program and develop learners who can effectively gather information, write accurate stories, and uphold the principles of responsible journalism.

The 1st- and 2nd-place winners in individual categories and 1st-place winners in group categories are expected to advance to the next level of competition and represent the school and Sub-Office in the upcoming Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) at the San Juan Sub-Office, where they will face other top campus journalists across the division.

With pens sharpened and stories ready to be told, the Lucsuhenyo journalists are set to carry their school’s name as they move forward to the next stage of campus journalism.

This celebration specifically aims to enrich our patriotism, not only during this time of the month, but in our everyday living as a Filipino citizen. This month-long celebration seeks to embrace and celebrate our identity, history, and unity that shapes us into becoming a Filipino. In line with this year’s celebration theme, it also tells us how our language can continue to thrive in the digital age by using Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a tool for learning, and connecting every Filipinos to a wider world of information by using technology 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆. 🕰

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 | 𝐋𝐍𝐇𝐒 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

Aspiring campus journalists of Lucsuhin National High School (LNHS) sharpened their journalism skills through the recently concluded School-Based Journalism Training held today, August 1.

The training kicked off with a plenary session on campus journalism orientation, introducing aspiring journalists to the fundamentals of campus journalism, the different journalistic categories, and the roles and responsibilities of student journalists in the school community.

Following the plenary session, participants proceeded to simultaneous training and workshops in their respective categories, where they engaged in focused discussions, hands-on activities, and practical exercises designed to strengthen their skills in journalism.

The training was facilitated by assigned coaches from the English and Filipino Departments, who guided the participants through the essential concepts, techniques, and practices in their chosen journalism categories.

Emphasis was also placed on the importance of accuracy, fairness, responsibility, and ethical journalism, reminding the young journalists that campus journalism is not only about writing but also about informing the school community and giving voice to issues and experiences that matter to learners.

School Principal IV Dr. Vanessa A. Bautista supported the initiative, which forms part of LNHS’s continuing efforts to develop the talents and competencies of its aspiring student journalists.

Through the training, the young journalists gained valuable knowledge and practical experience that will help prepare them for future school and division-level journalism activities and competitions.

As they move forward, the aspiring journalists of LNHS are expected to put their newly acquired skills into practice and uphold the values of truth, responsibility, and integrity in telling stories that matter to the school community.
