afternoon of Afro-Latin dancing!

💃 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀?
A matinée (afternoon/evening) Afro-Latin event! Join us for a 45-minute dancing class at 17:00, followed by
social dancing from 17:45 until 20:30-21:00.

📍 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴?
At Common Ground Café in Jericho, Oxford. Address: 37-38 Little Clarendon St, Oxford OX1 2HF. With a spacious floor, great acoustics, and air-conditioning, it’s the perfect place to dance!

🎶 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗱?
The music will be based on the vibe of the crowd, but expect a mix of: 40% Salsa, 40% Bachata, 15% Kizomba, and 5% other genres (merengue, semba, cha-cha, etc.). Feel free to share your track requests before or during the event!

🪙 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱?
𝙁𝙍𝙀𝙀 𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙍𝙔! There’s no charge to join, but we kindly ask you to support the venue by enjoying drinks or food from the bar. This keeps the event going and helps us host more like this in Oxford!

Organised by Oxford-Baila! & hosted by James St Tavern, we bring you “Oxford 1.2.3”—because life is too short for two left feet, and dancing is way more fun than doom-scrolling on your phone. Whether you're a complete beginner or a dance-floor legend, this event is your chance to step, turn, and (optionally) dramatically sway like you're in a music video.

A 45-min ChaChaCha class (beginner & intermediate) at 17:00, followed by social dancing until 20:30 - 21:00. Whether you want to master your turns, meet new people, or just have a good time, this event is for you!
