Experience teamLab Planets Tokyo
An unforgettable multisensory art journey where you walk barefoot through breathtaking, interactive installations in a massive warehouse in Toyosu. It's a space where art, nature, and technology blend seamlessly, letting you influence the environment in real time through movement, touch, and even an app.
Highlights include:
Water Area: Wade through knee‑deep pools with digital koi that bloom into flowers, walk under LED waterfalls, tumble on soft black‑hole beanbags, drift through a maze of floating spheres that change color and sound as you touch them, and wander through the mesmerising Infinite Crystal Universe.
Garden Area: Surrounded by over 13,000 live orchids floating in mirrored domes, plus a moss ‘microcosm’ filled with ovoid pods that glow and chime when touched.
Forest Area (added January 22, 2025): A playground of digital creatures and physical games—featuring athletic spheres, butterfly swarms, sketch walls, and an interactive “catch and release” forest of extinct animals.
Public Area & Eats: Begin outside under the “Universe of Fire Particles” pillar that lights up via an app. Inside, dine at Vegan Ramen UZU, set amid digital art, or recharge at the One‑Stroke Bench and expressive mirrored tables.
Step into the most mind-bending, sense-scrambling arts happening in the world
I thought this Tokyo attraction would be a major tourist trap. It ended up being one of the highlights of my first trip to Japan.
Why it’s special?
This isn’t just art you observe—it's art you become. Visitors consistently describe a rekindled sense of childlike wonder, often calling it a highlight of their trip. It even holds the Guinness World Record for the most‑visited museum dedicated to a single art group.
